Quote from: Summary of King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder
...he took the king to Serenia to see a Crispin, a good wizard...

...Crispin started Graham on his journey through Serenia, encountering dwarves...

...and whom Alexander escaped by turning the wizard into a cat in the first place...

Rather than a Cripsin, I think you just meant Crispin.

I don't recall there being dwarves, but if you're talking about the people to whom you gave the spinning wheel, I think that was a gnome... I'd check that one on the KQ Omnipedia or something.

A better way to say this would be "and from whom Alexander escaped".

Again, sorry if my constant corrections are kind of annoying.

All corrections are welcomed. We tried to catch most of them, but as you can see, a fresh pair of eyes always help.

I_am_so_nifty

waltz--Yeah, no one can catch everything. Glad to be of help.

Haids--Well, I want to be an editor. Ooh, and being part of some actual, physical Grammar Police would be fun.

Unofficially I'm a proofreader (at work, I have proofread texts from colleagues, but that's not my official job). But, as waltz said, it's always better to have at least one other person looking over a text. I was a bit of a proofreader during my beta testing-days too. Doesn't take much for me to notice such errors.

Graham definitely encounted Gnomes, they stole his jewels he placed on the ground and he followed them underground.

I_am_so_nifty

Liggy, those were the elves. You gave the gnomes a spinning wheel or something for a marionette.

I was just about to post everything Nifty said. XD I really don't think there were dwarves anywhere. (And I just played it today :P)

King's Quest VI summary is up!

Just 4 more days until Release Day!

The sixth installment of the original King's Quest series is widely held to be the peak of the series. With amazing professional voice talent, graphics, music, a wonderfully compelling and well-told story, and some interesting replay value with the two 'paths' the player could take to win the game (not to mention a variety of ending scenes based on your choices throughout the game), KQVI has been a fan favorite since it came out in 1992.

The story begins with a lovelorn Prince Alexander, pining for a girl he knew all too briefly...

Most of these ones weren't technically errors, but I feel like they could be improved.

Quote from: Summary of King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow

...He could not get the Princess Cassima...

...Alexander awoke on a beach surrounded by wreckage and no idea of where he was...

...Something just wasn't right here, Alexander could feel it...

...There were four islands in this kingdom...

...learned more about what lay ahead for him and how to see the Princess Cassima...

...Alexander also learned that the Vizier is not working alone...

The first and fifth excerpts I took say, "the Princess Cassima". This seems a bit awkward, and I would just put "Princess Cassima".

The second could be better written as "Alexander awoke on a beach surrounded by wreckage and with no idea of where he was." Otherwise, it sounds like his lack of idea is surrounding him.

In the third, a semicolon might work better. (i.e., "Something just wasn't right here; Alexander could feel it.)

There are five islands in the kingdom--at least, you listed five.

The only problem with the final excerpt is that the rest of the summary is written in past-tense, so the "is" should be "was".

Nice summary. I'm psyched for the release.

Made some of those fixes--"the Princess Cassima" still works, and the semi-colon is an either/or thing. Comma works just as well.

Yeah, I know. Like I said, some of those weren't technical errors, and were more a matter of opinion.

Ooh, can I be a Grammar Police as well?  Sounds fun!

My couple of n1ggles:

Alexander sailed for three long months before he finally spotted land off on the horizon.

Shouldn't it either be "off the horizon" or, preferably, "on the horizon"?

--

The misplaced prince went about exploring the Isles, meeting many interesting folk, some strange, some friendly, some helpful, and everything in between

I feel that the comma after "interesting folk" should be a semi-colon.

--

Isn't the character called the "Lord of the Dead", not "Lord of Death"?

--

Sorry if any of these have been mentioned already; other than some sentences that I would consider to not be structured as well as they could be, iI still find this to be a great summary and an inspiration to play KQ6 again!

EDIT: Apparently N -i- ggles is a bad word?

Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Yup, they do all pretty much amount to the same thing--you die and now he's in charge. :P

Unless, you die in Daventry, and you might end up in front of Azriel, Lord of Death, Lord of the Dimension of Death, heh heh.
