I am so excited about this! I've followed KQIX since I was like 12 years old and now I'm 23! So I've grown up watching this exciting adventure unfold, it really is an exciting day!  I love that this will be episodic and 5 sounds even better! I do have a question though, is this 5 episode game the original Shadows: Part 1 split into 5 episodes? I was reading an interview and I know the plot has been reworked. Or is this Parts 1,2, and 3 split into 5 episodes? Just wonder thanks again Phoenix!

It's Chapters 1 and 2 of Shadows split into 5 episodes.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

How long was Shadows originally going to have been, 3 chapters?
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Congrats on your 100th post, Enchantermon!

I believe that the five episodes are based mainly off of Chapters 1& 2 of Shadows, which was originally going to have three parts. But like you said, they reworked the plot to fit in an ending of some sort and some material from later chapters.

I'm like, an adult now or something? Sounds fake, but okay.

Oh I see. I was thinking Part 1 was called Shadows, Part 2 was something entirely different and Part 3 was something different. I'm curious how this will unfold, excited. Hmmm if this turns out well Activision may be interested in The Silver Lining 2

Well yes, very early on the intention was for there to be three parts, with three chapters each. But it was cut down--and that's probably for the better.

I believe that the other two parts were to be called "The Two That Are One" and "Eternities", if I remember correctly.

I hope someday they can release the concept ideas that were cut. To give us an idea how ambitous the original story would have been.

That would be great, I was looking forward to Alexander and Rosella's parts though, I was sort of hoping that Activision was going to absorb phoenix or that they'd be granted a commercial license like TellTale and Lucas Arts, and that we'd see the original concept come to life. I was ready to pay for it. :) But who knows if it is successful maybe Activision will grant a commercial license to phoenix and they can become the Sierra version of LucasArts, but thats wishful thinking on my part. But gosh I'm just happy its finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
