I've just finished listening--it's a great interview, nice works guys & Dan from One of Swords!--and I especially have to say that the interview offers yet more proof of how important our fans were in this fight. Dan works at Activision, and his boss was the one getting all those letters that were being sent in! So from someone who absolutely knows, they were extremely key in making this happen, folks.  ;D

Now I don't mean to be picky, but is anyone else a bit uncomfortable with the idea that one of the animators bringing us TSL was part of Final Destination 3? XD

No, no, as far as I remember, the effects were well done, it's just..Well, that entire movie was far too gruesome for my tastes. :P

Ahh, a movie, thought it was a game for a moment. And well, depends on where the person worked on FD3 then  I suppose!

Well Rosella, the thing you have to keep in mind is an animator just animates what they are told to animate... what they animate is predicated entirely by the source material.  In the case of Final Destination 3, the source material was gruesome and gritty... so therefore the animations had to be gruesome and gritty.

But I can assure you... TSL is not gruesome and gritty.  The source material is very very different and as a result, the animations are very very different.  If you take anything away from the knowledge that one of the animators of TSL worked on Final Destination 3, then let it be this:  One of the animators who is working on TSL has professional animation experience and is an artist who has proven his worth in the crucible that is experience.

What makes TSL so good in my eyes is that it was done in the style of King's Quest 6.  I'm not talking about VGA of course but in the way it was portrayed.  The theme is more adult oriented than King's Quest 7 which is what I like.  I wasn't too fond of the cartoonish style of King's Quest 7.  It was a good game and fun to play but the theme was too childish IMO.    In a way, I thought it was out of place much in the same way King's Quest 8 supposedly was ( I can't speak much on that one since I haven't played it).  I thought that KQ 5 and 6 had the best storylines with KQ3 coming in as a close second.

I'd have to say that KQ6 is my favorite and TSL to me just screams KQ6 on steroids with a fresh storyline.
