What am I doing wrong?  I am using the windows xp version and have a hp that is less than a year old so it is fairly new.  I downloaded the plugin for explorer 7.0 but nothing is working.  Can someone get on yahoo messenger and find me rclewis23@yahoo.com is my instant message if anyone can help me walk through this.  All I'm hearing is the audio and nothing else.  No picture comes up and it is always an error.  I uninstalled it and now I retried downloading it and nothing worked.  Please help if you can thank you!

Can you give us the specs for your graphics card and such? It might help if you download the latest drivers too.  :)

Can you tell us exactly, step-by-step what you're doing?

I don't know where to look for cpu or graphic information.  All I did was save it to my computer and when I get to the configuration it says it fails and I have a vista computer and it is a hewlett packard.  If someone can walk me through how to find out my computer information that would be helpful.  Thanks and sorry for being a pain, just want to play the game and all I am getting is the audio.  I also downloaded the patch and that doesn't bring up anything.

The patch is for Windows 7, not Internet Explorer 7. I had tried installing the Windows 7 patch on my Windows XP computer, and it made my game unable to run. It turned out I didn't need the patch, and it worked without it. You can discover the RAM and Processor by right clicking "My Computer" and choosing "Properties". It's there under "Computer:". Finding the video card is slightly more difficult. You'll have to hold down your Windows key on your keyboard, and while holding that down, press the R key on your keyboard. A small window with a text box should appear. Within this text box, write "dxdiag" and Click "OK". A window called DirectX Diagnostic Tool should appear. You can say no to any prompt boxes if they pop up. Now Click on the "Display" tab. That is your video card. You can also click on the "Sound" tab for your sound card if you wish. Notice, on the "System" tab, the same information you found in the properties of "My Computer" is there.

Your problem may be caused by installing that patch - it isn't for your version of Windows.  Try uninstalling the entire game and reinstalling it from scratch without running the patch.

That video setup is going to struggle to run this game, in the configuration try unchecking all of the extra boxes and setting the video settings to the lowest possible, then see if you make any progress.

I also had that problem. I am running Windows 7 x64 and did not install the patch. For me, I had to navigate to the program files (x64) directory, then to Phoenix Online, then The Silver Lining. From there, I right clicked TSLconfig.exe and ran as administrator. That seems to have fixed the problem. When I ran the game, I also ran it as administrator just to prevent any future problems. Hope this helps.  =)

You can also do what airman did above just by right-clicking on the shortcut icon in the game folder itself without having to browse to it on the hard drive.  Vista was a bit picky with running shortcuts as an administrator, but in Win7 it typically works like a charm to just check the box on the compatibility tab.

I tried that on the shortcut on the desktop, but the option was grayed out. Same for the start menu link.

The administrator was grayed out so how do you fix the problem once you download the game?

airman_dopey

Install, then browse through "my computer" to where the game was installed, then right click on "tslconfig.exe" and click "run as administrator"

*EDIT* If you have "hide extensions" turned on (by default I believe) then it might only show up as "tslconfig"

If it's grayed out on the shortcut then you will have to browse to the actual file and select that checkbox or choose the run as administrator option from the right-click menu itself.  Get the full thing downloaded and let it install to the default directory, then you'll want to mark both the game launcher itself and the configuration utility to run as an administrator.
