hi first i deeply appreciate all the work that has gone into this game. i am having trouble after installing the game, when i try to run the game either from the program files or the shortcut I receive this message: 'hardware failed to switch to the specified mode'.  Also although there is the notification and the game doesn't start up, there is game music playing which i can only disable through ctrl alt del:  task menu which will have tsl.exe listed under processes. I have windows vista. I tried saving it to a different directory as was suggested for a similar problem.  Thanks again for all of your efforts, and look very forward to playing.

Which Vista are you running?  What kind of graphics card do you have and how much memory does it have?  How much RAM do you have?  Have you tried modifying the configuration settings through that application?  Have you tried running the application as an administrator?

Sorry for the big list of questions, but those are all important.

i have 6 gigs of ram, vista home premium service pack 2, 64 bit operating system. not sure about video card how can i check. my hd has 200 free gigs.

try running the configuration tool, and switch to windowed mode. Then run the game, and if you get in, try changing the configuration inside

Let me know if that helps!

also not sure how to modify the configuration settings through that application or how to runapplication as an administrator...

In the actual application folder itself within the "All Programs" area in the Start Pearl (isn't that what they call that thing in Vista?  I can't remember) there's an icon labelled "Edit Configuration."  Run that and uncheck the Fullscreen box.

To run something as an administrator in Vista, just right click on whatever it is you're trying to run, and click on the Properties option at the bottom of the list.  On the window that comes up click on the Compatibility tab and then check the box at the bottom that says, "Run this program as an administrator."

Definitely going to be helpful for running the Configuration application, maybe not necessary for running the game itself but I did it just to be safe.

Hooray for another one up and running!  Now that you have the game running, you're welcome to try stepping up the effects through the in-game options menu to improve the look a bit.  Have fun!
