i formatted my computer 10 times (actually more like 20 times) last year, so i have record times of formatting, and installing of Windows

Whether or not Cesar's farting doesn't bother me that much. I only feel sorry for those homeless people I let in, now they don't have anything to watch anymore.
Racx_00, that's why Win95 OSR2 is much better, you don't need to re-install it that often.

I have Win98 myself (dunno if it's SE or not), and I only reinstall about once a year... and that's usually more because I just want to do some "spring cleaning", not because I really need to. Of course, I also use 98Lite and RegCleaner (not the M$ program, a different program), so maybe that helps.

Hee. I meant the version on the CD that came with my computer. I'm going to wait until I get a new puter to install your version, because Compaq has this stupid proprietary driver setup and everything.

Ah, ok. I formatted an old Dell, no problem. Those weird drivers they had were never needed in the first place. Though I did have to download a couple drivers from the internet, as the ol computer was sold to me as is without any driver discs or anything.

That's why I'm never going to buy a brand-computer, if you know what I mean. No Dell, no Compaq, nada. The Dell laptop I'm carrying with me nowadays when I go to work and come home from work is property of my employer, not me. When I bought this new pc, I also specifically wanted an original OS-cd, and video-card CD, and other drivers. No "rescue"-CD's for me, thank you very much.

Yeah, if I'd known then what I do know, I would have never bought a Compaq. Unfortunately, at the time I was very green about Windows computers... the last computer I'd had before that had been a Commodore 128/64.

BTW, where did you get your PC, CC? Ideally I'd want to build my own PC when I finally get the money, but I'm not sure my tech skills will be up to it. Is there any place that will build a PC for you, but give you all the original driver and OS CDs and stuff, not proprietary stuff?

Flanders is filled with pc-shops that will build a pc to your specifications, and give you all the original driver and OS CD's and stuff.

Since I have all I need closeby, I don't go searching oversees for computer shops that do the same. I go searching oversees for software, not hardware.
