A Thought About TSL

I'm going to start off this post with an analogy.  Recently, there was a game called Mass Effect 2 released which some of you may or may not be familiar with.  After the game released, they began to come out with several add ons which was similarly done with Resident Evil 5 (maybe this one sounds more familiar).  The adds on contained extra content which was essentially streamed seamlessly in the game.

What are your thoughts about releasing add ons for TSL in the future (after all of the episodes are finished) ?  They wouldn't have to be for free and they could be retailed for $5 or $10 if working for free is an issue.  A prime example could be the trial of Alhazred (if it is not already in the original) and the Knighting of Conner.  Also, any story material which was excluded and you feel should be told could be added as well.  Sure, I understand that you will be busy with other commercial games, but it couldn't hurt to flesh out the universe a little more.

The problem with paying any amount of money is that it's against their contract with Activision.

Yep they can't charge anything for any TSL episodes or add-ons.  Anything King's Quest has to be free.

Ah, that's right!  I suppose they would have to be for free then.  However, there is no rule that says they can't charge a little extra for their other games to cover the cost of the add ons  ;)

To my knowledge, the five episode release is the end of The Silver Lining. After that, we plan on moving forward on our next project, Corridor 9. So I don't believe there will be any DLC of any sort. Of course, I would love to see some, but I don't think we'll be getting any. Besides, Activision probably won't let us make anything beyond the five episode release. I don't have knowledge of the specifics of the contract with Activision, but I'm assuming that it allows for only five episodes and any patches for each.

That's fine by me... I was just putting it out there.  I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes and that's enough for me.
