Oh, where to begin?

<rant> Ok, ekplettw and ekplettomai are the same verb. One is transitive, the other is not. One is active, one is passive. I see that. I really do. Everyone sees that. That isn't the problem. *takes a deep breath* THE PROBLEM IS THAT IF THEY'RE THE SAME VERB, THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE SAME BLEEDING AORIST STEM!!!!!!!!!! Rationally, I *know* that "TT" is gutteral and that, because it is gutteral, it's going to morph into a xi in the future stem. That is fine! That is absolutely fine because it does it in the active too! You can't have one of them have a strong aorist and not the other especially if they're different stems!! I will it to be exeplexa and exeplechthen/exeplachten instead of exeplexa and exeplagen! I will it! </rant>

I'm going to my room. I'm going to do atrocious things to Hellenika. When I return, the world will make sense. :)

I was at a library today. :P I arrived there, only to be told that all the books relating to classicism had been moved to another one two streets over. :P So I went to that one. Their "system" involved having all the bookcases pressed together, with cranks attached to random ones. The bookcases were also all on rails. Now, in order to actually prise the bookcases apart and to find the things you wanted, you had to move at least four bookcases. However, you couldn't move three in the same row because every third one had no crank. This meant that you had to carefully calculate which bookcases to move and only then could you actually make it down the aisle to see if it was the right one. XD It was very eventful and frustrating. :P I think they're trying to keep learning exclusive to smart people, even if they do claim it's to save space. :P

The library at the university I attended had something like that for old periodicals. It sounds like theirs was better designed, though. The bookcases had buttons on them, and when you pressed the button, all of the shelves automatically moved to let you in. They also had weight sensors between the bookcases to prevent squishing of patrons. :P

So I went to the theatre with my Greek class (one other person) tonight. :P We saw Medea, which was fantastic. And while it was wonderful, people who have never had anything bad happen to them can't portray being utterly destroyed in a realistic way. :-\ Though people who have experienced that kind of horror and loss generally aren't in a place in their lives where they can be professional actors or professional much of anything. :P It was somewhat disappointing, even though there could be no doubt that she was an amazing actress. On the whole, it was a fabulous evening though and I got to wear a pretty dress. :D Who else has been recently? :)

:D That sounds like such an awesome system! :D (Provided that the shelves were labelled or ordered in some way... Mon Dieu, though, imagine how much worse it is there when someone puts a book back in the WRONG PLACE! >:()

But the interior of the theatre was baroque! :P And the exterior was neo-classical with turrets! :D It completely made up for the language.

It was built in 1892, so there's really no reason the US can't have pretty neo-baroque things. :( I'm sorry you don't. :(
