Heh the majority of this country thats who. Still it's dropping slowly as with most govt.s who've reached the 7/8 year point. I don't fancy the ideas of the conservative party getting in but atm I think Labour need a slapping down/new leader.

Oh and as for political purpose - its called paying for the war  >:(  They'd ever admit it though and instead just say that if they dont do it taxes will go up blah blah blah. One thing to remember though, UK politics is very different to US in terms of voting for your "leader". Which party you are in really matters here whereas in the US its more about the person and their ideats etc. Seeing as the conservative party have only just started to get their act together and become slightly electable Labour have had no real opposition for the past years...

So I've heard too. But don't worry, our own local conservative party have also only just got their act together, so last elections it was really not a big surprise who won...
BTW, we have some more politcal parties than the UK, even. There's liberals, socialists, conservative christian, green, and let us not forget the party that will get an absolute majority in a few years if they don't do anything about it, the fascist party! Apart from that, there's a few small parties, but they've gone in collaboration with on of the big ones, to make sure they get representation in parliament. That doesn't mean they're now part of that bigger party, just that th'yre on the same voting list than the other party, if you get what I mean.

As if we needed another reason to stay out of the UK.

Nah, I kid. I kid 'cause I love. After all, you guys had Douglas Adams, right? And 5/6 of Monty Python.
