I have a question.  Forgive me if this is not the place to post this.  I am new to the forums.  Or if this question has already been answered.
Will the interface be the point and click interface from King's Quest V or VI.  Or will it be hotspots like in King's Quest VII?  Is it too early to tell?

This is exactly the place for such a question! it was already answered before though - the game interface would be point & click, much like KQ6's interface but with a brand new, state-of-the-art, never-seen-before-in-a-KQ-game MAGIC SYSTEM!! ;D ;D ;D

(Did I do the hype thing OK?)

I don't know Storm.  I think your hype could be a little bigger ;)
Never seen before huh?  Well, sounds exciting.  If the interface is like KQ6 then does that mean there will be a narrator who describes everything you see or is that too much talking?

Done!!  ;B

And IIRC, they said somewhere that there would be a narrator... at least for some parts of the game 8)

Some stories are better visualized than read ;D, but yes there will be a narrator.  8)

True, some stories are better visualized ;D.  I was just thinking of King's Quest 5 and 6 and how much dialogue the Narrator in those games had.

Jeysie

The KQ6 Narrator had at least 3900+ WAV files, eep.

I like having a speaking narrator in a game with voice acting... it makes the VO seem less sporadic. Plus it helps add/enhance the atmosphere of the game. (Like the dryly sarcastic Gary Owens in SQ4 & 6... the pleasantly serious and straight-faced-humored narrator in KQ6... the Southern ethnic-toned lady in GK1...)

Of course, a lousy narrator can also take away from the game, like in KQ5... :P (IMHO) But then, that's a casting problem, not a problem with the concept.

Peace & Luv, Liz

KatieHal

I was glad you could turn off the narrator in GK1 without turning off the other voice overs, because she talked way too damn slow for me! good touch with the accent, etc, but tooooo sloooowww....

yes! so original! click and move..:P right clik and select? or just clik?

Storm

Since they said it's KQ6-style Point & Click, it's probably going to be icon-based (right click and select), not just single click  8)

Definitely updated icons! XD  And we're using real actors for the major roles in KQ9 too.  :)
