It's only briefly, but The Silver Lining gets mentioned in this CNN article about remakes of classic games!

Thanks for the heads up! I don't have time to edit the twitter right now (enjoying my 19th birthday... I need a day off every once in a while...) but I'll get to it sometime tomorrow... I've got lots on my schedule lol.

I was just thinking the other day, how I am drifting away from all of the new trends in the gaming world and I'm now falling back onto the nostalgia I know and love. I was gonna get some Telltale games like Monkey Island/Sam and Max and play some older Final Fantasy games to make up for FFXIII. I found this to be enlightening because the new generation in gaming (especially for console owners) has been somewhat exhausting. Having to pay for DLC that could have been in the game to begin with, achievement hunting, insanely competitive multiplayer, buying controllers that are more expensive than the game (Rock Band, Guitar Hero), etc. I'm now realizing that I should have never have left the games that mattered, so I'm happy to now reminisce of the good ole' days of gaming. I have to admit, the TSL release announcement was the moment I had this epiphany, so I have to give it up for the team that kicked some sense into my head.  ;)

Thanks Phoenix!

I've been picking up a lot of older games again as well - I'd forgotten how good so many of them are.

Nice!  I've hooked up the Super NES recently and have actually been trying to work through Castlevania IV--those old games are tough!  But I've got scribbled scraps of paper with grids that say things like, "WATER, HEART, AX, WATER, WATER, AX" all over them.  Remember the days of writing down passwords? ;)

That one was a good one. It may be the best one on DS. I liked Dawn of Souls too, but it got tiresome trying to catch all of the souls. Also, Portrait of Ruin was really confusing. So Ecclesia would easily be my favorite.

I recently had downloaded Symphony of the Night off the PSN, and have to say that I'm ashamed for not playing it sooner.

I have never played Symphony of the Night myself ( :-[), let me know how it is!

I started playing Symphony of the Night on the PSP, but I think I'm going to get it on the Xbox or PS3. I like bigger screens if possible!

I also never played Castlevania IV! On my list of things to get for the Wii.

I got too many damn consoles lol

I liked it. It was really fun, but it still had this "prototype" feel to it, because it was the first RPG in the series. Also, Alucard tends to get pretty overpowered near the end of the game. It doesn't really ruin the fun, but you just are open to so much near the end, like using different sub-weapons, spells, Familiars, Relics, etc.

For the price tag, I would say it's worth it. Especially if you are a Castlevania fan.

I should play Symphony of the Night too... soon... when TSL is not sucking in all my time!

Priorities, sir. You have thousands of KQ-starved fans counting on you.  ;)

But Symphony is a good game that you can just pick up and play. It doesn't require you to commit to long hours in front of the TV, like some RPGs.

well.. when I'm working on TSL from around 9 am till around 2 am, there's really not much time for anything else!

I see your point. Well, the game will always be there for you when you're ready. That's the beauty of digital downloads.
