How many downloads so far?

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else, but how many downloads has the game had so far?  Is there a particular number you are trying to reach?

I wonder how the current download count compares to other popular free "indie" adventure releases.  What "free" adventure game holds the record for the most downloads?  Is it AGDI's QFG2, KQ1, or KQ2+?  Or Tale of Two Kingdoms?  Or IA's KQ3?  Or one of the Ben Jordan games?   ???

Yesterday we sat at about 23,000.

Did the team had any estimates of how many downloads they would think they'd get before they released it? and 23k is quite a lot, but is it comparable for example to other fan games or much more/less?

The question is, why didn't we get 23,000 signatures on the petition?  ???

because 23k downloads doesn't mean 23k different people downloaded it! I bet Katie downloaded it 20k times!  ;)

I'll admit to two downloads - one on the laptop and one on the regular.

Still, that's a lot of downloads for a game that was all word-of-mouth, more or less.

Does anyone know how this compares to other fan/indie adventure game projects?  Which "fan" adventure game holds the record for most downloads?

kindofdoon

That's definitely a hard figure to track down, especially because most statistics (if you even find any) would be reported by the companies who released the game (resulting in possible bias/inaccuracies).

It'd also be difficult to get a good read on because some games have gone through multiple releases or revisions and so a lot of their downloads would be duplicates.
