The engine can create both Mac and Linux products, but right now we're focusing on the Win32 version (Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP).  We'll port it to Mac and Linux afterwards.

Are you playing it with DosBox? I'm not sure, because I haven't played the game with XP before, but I'd guess it's a timing issue. Unfortunately, I don't know how to help you...but maybe someone else does.

did you changed the compability to another windows version? it could help
(changeble in properties of the icon of the game)
choose version 95 or 98 these two versions will surly let the game work

I can get 7 and 8 working fine on XP, but 5 and 6 won't work for me

I have been tinkering with my Windows XP computer and I finished playing KQV again yesterday. Right now I'm working on m fanfiction about Morena. I would like to be able to fix my comp so I can play the early games, KQ1-3, becasue the text on them is all scrambled up so I can't read it. I can play KQ1remake, KQ4, KQ5, KQ7, LB1, and LB2. I have no interest in playing MOE again.

Can get my KQ VI to function on my boggo Windows XP, though why it works for me and no-one else is a mystery (probably because I have threatened my computer enough times with being physically torn apart with my bare hands that it has gotten bored of my winging and gets on with it now!)

Hi....

I hope this isn't the wrong section in which to write this, but I'm having lots of trouble getting KQ6 to work in Win XP. Every other KQ is working on this computer except for VI.
I tried this website, http://www.tawmis.com/collector/Games/KingsQuest/KQ6&XP.html
but it didn't help me. I downloaded VDM sound and at one time on a different Windows XP computer I got the game to work.
Any Solutions??

It didn't help me either. So what I do now is have my hard drive partitioned into two parts, one with Windows XP and the other with an earlier version of Windows so I can use programs that XP doesn't like.

Tribe do you use 98SE as your earlier Windows version?  I use 98SE and XP PRO. SP2 on two separate hard drives.

I ran KQ6 on my XP machine using DosBox with no problems.

Do you have 98SE on a seperate partition or disk to try and see if KQ 6 will work for you then?
