I was hoping to go really reto--to the beginning of computer or video games.
Are there any sets I could get which could have the classic video games from the 70s to early 80s (Pre-Mario)
Also, is there any way to get Colossal Cave Adventure and other early 1970s text adventures to work on modern computers?
I want to go back to where it all began as far as video games and adventure games.

Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

I still have a fully funcitonal Atari with like 40-something games.  I don't think any of them are quite that old though.

Speaking of 70s games, there aren't enough ''period'' adventure games. I'd love to see like a 1970s mystery game, with lots of Hippie-ish characters, or a 60s game or something.
