Fairy Tales
« on: March 24, 2004, 07:15:33 AM »
I just watched Beauty and the Beast last night...i know, 19 and I still watch Disney movies.  What can I say, I am researching for my major.  I am going to school to be an animator.  This one is my favorite...I think it is because I loved KQ6 and Robbie Benson...I think...was the voice of Alexander and the Beast.

Does anyone else have a favorite fairy tale?  It does not have to be a Disney movie.

My other fav is Jorinda and Joringel.

On the subject of Disney movies, did anyone else notice that a lot of Disney voice actors were in KQ6?

Hmm. I didn't. Of course, I don't follow Disney voice actors that closely.

I'm amazed that someone besides me has heard of Jorinda and Joringel! I first heard it on a recording of a 1940s kid's radio show that dramatizes fairy tales, and I've never heard it in any other context.

I'd have to say that my favorite is "The Fool and the Flying Ship" (there are countless variations of it and its elements), though " Puss in Boots " has been a longtime fave as well.

So what? Why should only (young) children be 'allowed' to watch Disney movies?
Just as I wouldn't know which game I like best, or which movie I like best, I wouldn't know which fairly tale 'by Disney) I like best. You see, to pick a best one, first you have to be able to at least remember the title.  :-\

I still love Disney movies. :) My fave Disney movie is prolly The Sword in the Stone, but that's not really a fairy tale. Unfortunately my fairy tale reading knowledge has gotten rather rusty. I was usually more inclined to read Greek myths instead. ;)

I think that one of Disney's best was The Black Cauldron.

I heard about it... actually read it. I used to love fairy tale books when I was a kid... don't recall having favorites though  ;]
