On the list of improvements for Episode 2, the following was listed:

"3 )   Graham's walking animations: We are adding a motion capture walk to Graham."

Does this mean that you redid the walking animation based on an actual human's walking? If so, I would love to hear more details about the process involved.

I'm actually quite surprised that you guys have access to motion-capture equipment at all, seeing as this is a fan group and all.  That's definitely cool though.  I'd also be interested in hearing more about this, as well as hearing any commentary about other types of animation in the game that utilized mo-cap.

I'm guessing that the team used video motion capture rather than actually hooking up sensors to someone's body.

Ah--heh--that would make sense.  :)

I'm also surprised/impressed that the team reworked something as central as walking so close to a release. Bold move (pun intended)!

Well, it WAS something that was brought up in almost every review of the game so far--a lot more than the narrations even, I think.  So it's definitely good that they revised it.  Honestly, the game's visuals for the most part are really nice--it was kinda the one blemish that really stuck out--and it was on the player character, so it really wasn't ignorable.  :)

I noticed the awkwardness of the walking during the demo. It was a crouch-walk, as if Graham was bending his knees so that he could be a few inches shorter.

But the walking for Episode 1 didn't really bother me. Maybe I've just conditioned myself to overlook it.

Believe me, once you see the improved walk that we have now the old walk would definitely stand out.  I haven't seen the run animation quite yet but I'm confident that's also going to look pretty good and the moving faster will definitely come in handy later when Graham goes to
the treadmill.
Lol. Will the improved walking and running be retroactively applied to Episode 1 as well? Through a patch?

They've already confirmed that it will automatically patch episode 1 when you install episode 2.

Huh, Wilco... I thought you were gonna say
something about how Graham goes to the
