Everyone is familiar with the big, sweeping letters on King's Quest boxart. Take, for example, King's Quest V:

I did a reverse font search to find out what this font was, and imagine my awed surprise when I realized that the classic KQ font...

...was also the official TSL font until the Activision C&D!

So cool!

What's amazing to me is that I had seen both logos a million times but never made the connection. Until now, that is. :pleased:

But more importantly, what is the font? :P

It's called "Vivaldi". It costs a laughable amount of money (one site had it for $36), but one site allowed me to preview my text with the font, so I screencapped the text I wanted and made a speedy getaway. ;D

You free music with it *nods*
Is there a missing word there (get, perhaps)? I don't know how you would free music with a font. ???

I don't know where it came from, but I have Vivaldi on my computer. Obviously, the Roman numerals are in a different font - looks like Times New Roman. The KQIX, at least, appears to have been scaled down horizontally by quite a bit.

How do you do a reverse font lookup? ???

There are at least two sites where you upload a picture of a font, then identify the letters in the picture (sort of like a CAPTCHA), and then the site ventures a few guesses at what the font might be.

This site has had the highest success rate for me (almost 100%): http://whatfontis.com

Yus, missing the word Get. and Vivaldi happends to be a known composer/violist.

THANK YOU for showing me that font! I've been trying to figure out what exactly that font is and asking all around and have never gotten any response! It's not 100% exactly the same, but close enough that you can edit it after it's been rasterized.

You're very welcome.

For those interested parties, I've found a site offering the font for free! You just have to wait 60 seconds for the link.

I don't know what word processor you are using, but Vivaldi is one of the ones that comes standard with Microsoft Office. Its at least in Office 2007 and 2010.

I don't know if its included in the Word 2007 or 2010 or not.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg
