It might have been asked already but...

Are those 'things with faces' trees? Where are they in the game? (because I suppose they will appear) Is that a new location or something?

It looks a lot like Etheria to me. It might be from the concept art back when the game was called King's Quest IX: Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining and Graham was wearing Levi's.  :-\

I think everyone who naysays on Graham wearing Levi jeans is just jealous of the fact that they can't ever hope to model them as well as His Highness does.

...That, or they have a better sense of olden days fashion.  Close enough.

They look to me more like the trees from KQ4 by the ogres house.
I didn't know how much I really enjoyed the Sierra Adventure Games until I played them all over again 15 years later.

That's what I was going to say!  The ones that grab Rosella.

Unfortunately, I never played KQ4. I was basing it off of the clouds and the colors.

Going by the colours of the trees and the sky. The trees are definitely not from KQ4. I would say that it is from etheria in KQ7 - maybe etheria has live trees too.

Hmm...I could tell you, but honestly, it's kind of fun seeing you try to guess! So I'm going to opt for that. ;)

They kinda remind me of the trees in Cloudland. I think there were some pretty weird trees there, though they didn't have faces.

Oh, and  :suffer:

This isn't really Suffer-worthy. It's just a background.  :P

The only other thing I can think of is the Land of the Clouds above Daventry. I know that in the VGA remake of Quest for the Crown, the trees in the Land of the Clouds were colorful too. They didn't have faces however.  :-\

EDIT: Jafar beat me to it!  ::)

Ouch, I should have expected that...  :P

I don't know, maybe it's a section of Etheria (because of the clouds). I don't think it's part of the world of dreams where Rosella and Alexander end up in, because they look quite different from what I've seen.

And something else, do you guys and girls (and devs :P) think we (controlling Graham) will get the chance to physically visit the worlds where Alexander and Rosella are? I think we will, can't wait to see what new/original locations POS have planned for us.

I still am under the impression we will play as Alexander and Rosella in their respective realms despite what we've been told. Otherwise, Graham will have to talk to Leonardo DiCaprio so he can learn the art of Inception.  :P

It would be nice yes, I think I did read somewhere that their parts were quite big before the big cutting out took place, it would be cool to have an episode where most of the time is spent playing as both of them.

I think we will see Graham at least in Alexander's world of dreams (or at least it was planned) because of that very old screenshot where Graham appears in front of a burning bridge, that place looked quite nightmarish

I gotta say. It's starting to look like an original place made by the team, possibly in Etheria. It's the faces on the trees that are making me think that this place hasn't been seen before in a previous King's Quest game.

I've 'extracted' some stuff from a very old TSL (KQIX back then) preview:

You will get to travel to eight different lands in King's Quest IX, including older lands seen in previous King's Quest games as well as brand new and exciting ones for you to explore. The game opens in the Land  of the Green Isles, bringing a sense of familiarity and nostalgia back to the player as  his quest to discover the identity of a mysterious cloaked individual begins. From that point, the journey will take the adventurers to fantastic lands including The Dreamworld, The Endless Forest, Astratos, and Dreoria, among others. The player will also get to explore a place many have long wanted to see, the great Castle of Daventry itself.

Interesting isn't it? :) I hope some of those locations are still in. Unfortunately we have been told that the castle of Daventry isn't going to appear.

This looks like Alexander's Dreamworld:

And this is definitely Etheria:

This looks like Alexander's Dreamworld:

I believe that is the shore of the Isle of Wonder after some cataclysmic event. As proof, the second image is called "Screenshot of Oyster Shore scene".

Also, in that second picture of what you believe is Etheria, there is a flag with the words "Welcome to the Land of the Winds". Does that help identify the location?

Yeah, but the top one bears a resemblance (at least in structure) to Isle of the Mists. But the bottom one definitely looks like the Isle of Wonder.

The reason it may look like Alex's Dreamworld may be due to the color of the sky. I think it looks more like Shadrack's storm from Episode 1. The sky in Alex's Dreamworld has a swirl in the clouds (that's how I can tell the difference).
