Some more generic answers don't change much. That's not the point. We want to see comprehensible responses.

One Example: Use lamp with stuffed bear.

TSL would say: You're crazy!

Plus, they're a bit long, though I do like the less sarcastic tone.

Woah! Is there anywhere we can watch a clip of your local news?

Sure.  :) You'll hear his voice at the very beginning and then at the 0:46 mark.

Oh I had forgotten about that one.  :)  That was pretty good.

I listened, but his voice sounds different now that it's not 1992! :(

Thanks for sharing! :)

It really depends on how they are read though.  All of those lines could EASILY be just as mocking as the ones currently in the game.  It'd be a lot safer to just go with some explicitly neutral responses and readings.  If the team is going to go out of their way to make these changes anyway, they'd want to make sure they were fixing it properly, rather than taking the risk that the "fix" could be just as bad as the original issue.
I suppose that's true, though I think that if given instructions to not mock the player with those lines, I think Amy could certainly pull it off. Some neutral answers would be good as well, but would you appreciate some snark that didn't make you feel like a loser? :P
"If your translation is correct, that was 'May a sleepy hippopotamus lie down on your house keys,' but you're not sure. Unfortunately, your fluency in griffin-speak is too low."

We're roleplaying in the King's Quest world: come join in the fun!

A bit of chiding is okay--even the best Sierra KQ narrators did it on occasion (there are a few moments in KQ6 that I remember specifically) but they were pretty few and far between.

Plus, the "chiding" remarks were specific to certain items, so the "chiding" could be targeted towards certain especially silly actions that don't make sense, as opposed having "chiding" remarks" upon virtually every non-fruitful action in TSL.

Yep.  That's the important difference.

This is probably because in KQ6 his tone was gentle and very laid back, and as an announcer his tone is loud and snappy. Still full of awesome, though. :) Thanks for the clip, kyranthia! :)
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

He should make more money off of his voice by reading children's books on CD.  I could totally fall asleep to his King's Quest voice!

Robby Benson's, too.  I love the sound of that man's voice!  :sweetheart:

You're welcome.  :)

I will say, his voice was laid back at times, though it could be pretty deep in some of the darker areas - like when Alexander encounters the Minotaur.

I like how a narrator will do that  - set the mood of the scene a bit more through inflection and tone.

Just give the option to cut Amy out all together and put a text box or window up.

kindofdoon

That option already exists. It's under audio options.
