It's a combination of "Renee" (Bella's mom) and "Esme" (Edward's mom.)   Her middle name is "Carlie," a combination of Charlie (Bella's dad) and Carlisle (Edward's dad.)

Oh. Makes sense, but it's still a pretty horrible name. Even Carlie is better, and I don't particularly care for it, either.

Seriously, we should get together, get wasted, watch these movies and discuss how Bella represents Congress, Jasper is a parody on clowns, the physics of how shirts are magnetically repelled from "werewolves" (really?  How can someone confuse lycanthropy with shape shifting?) and Renesmee represents what not to do when handling beavers.

yeah, yeah, reviving an old thread.

I haven't read the books, but I've watched the 3 films. I actually liked the first one a lot. There was something about the weirdness of Bella/Edward relationship that I really liked. The movie had something charming about it.

Then Wolves, love triangles and all the other crap happened. And bleh. Eclipse had some good stuff in it, but overall it didn't make much sense and it was all a big bleh.

But yeah, when I watched the first movie, which I was pretty much dragged into the movies cause I didn't want to watch that crap, I found myself very into it. Again, there was something about these two guys that were both completely unconventional characters that was very cool. And then, clichés happened.

Yeah. The story itself had potential, but...just kept turning into crap every single time. And once you know that Meyer originally was going to jump from Twilight to Breaking Dawn, but decided to fill in the intervening time (and/or her publishers told her to, I think?)--it's very obvious. Because really, pretty much nothing changes!
