i am writing this  because all i see day after day is complaints "not enough puzzles"  " is the narrator the new Cedric?" " why does the narrator have personality and not a groggy 80 year old man"
"why does this0 voice actor have a lisp"?
the way i see it we are lu7cking to get anything! amy does a amazing job I for one like her brand of humor
and as a adventure game player i love a description for whatever i click on
snf as a true kings quest fan i love the nistelic backstorys  and a actor has a lisp oh my someone has a condition they cant help oh my god and here i though people would be focused om the game
which by the way  by deftion is a adventure game An adventure game is a computer-based game in which the player assumes the role of protagonist in an interactive story driven by exploration and puzzle-solving instead of physical challenge. The genre's focus on story as far as i am concerned Tsl does that 100 percent this game is a tribute to kings quest   for those who have issues if you dont like it dont play it

Well, if you don't like it -  don't read it. ;)

We certainly don't want to tell people not to complain, because if something really isn't working and they can provide feedback on that in a mature and constructive way then it enables us to make fixes and improvements as we go along.

One reason why the criticism exists is to hopefully improve the game.  I agree that if you don't like the story it can't change at this point, but many other aspects can.  The game play between episodes 1 and 2 was much improved.  Without the feedback that would not have been the case.  As for the puzzles, it might delay the game a bit, but more puzzles are needed.  Not that this can easily be changed.   I understand how much work goes into designing a good puzzle and then the programming/testing...etc that has to be done in order to implement it.  I doubt more will be added to what has already been planned, but it is a valid complaint.  Just because it is being released in episodes is not an excuse for less than 10 puzzle elements in an episode.  It seems the focus was on the story and not the game.
I didn't know how much I really enjoyed the Sierra Adventure Games until I played them all over again 15 years later.

Constructive criticism is essential to the growth of a product, free or otherwise.  The PC Gamer review even said that there were a lack of puzzles in the second episode.  The team has taken this into account and is looking to expand on the amount of puzzles available in future episodes.  There are always going to be critics out there, so there is nothing you can say or do to stop that.  Tazz and Keg even pointed out that this team is actually more willing to listen to their fans than many others which lends strength to the fact that they would more willing to receive constructive criticism and feedback.  Perhaps people should also mention the strong points of the game that they liked as well- that way the criticism would not seem so harsh.  Tell us what you loved about the game if you haven't already.

I hope  just those of us  thise of us who like the game currently can have a choice  on wether to use the "improvements" or not

Oh yes.  Brilliant.  How about an option to make Graham's pathfinding worse, or maybe switch back to his old choppy walk cycle?  I know--let's remove the ability to display the game in widescreen!  Or maybe we can remove some puzzles and rewrite the code to put MORE bugs back in!

Okay, guys, let's keep it civil.

As we've said many times, people are welcome to express their opinions, negative or positive, as long as they are respectful in how they do so.

The things we've chosen to improve upon based on feedback generally are things that are indeed improvements for everyone--for example, the pathfinding and the walking animation. Other things, like the short narrations and optional narrator voice (which was there from the beginning, of note), are indeed optional, and you don't need to select them if you don't want them.

I appreciate that you really like the game and want to defend it, Hero, but other people do have the right to respectfully express their opinions and offer feedback here, even if it's negative.

Am I having a crazy sense of deja vu, or is this actually an older thread with today's dates?

It really bothers me that even if i defend you guys tiy still prefer the negative feedback and that you  censor me which my language is pg 13 at most  so as of today i will no longer openly defend you or speak my mind

MangoMercury

Seriously?

It's been explained to you - the TSL team embrace all manner of feedback, as long as it's constructive.  By acting like a "rabid fanboy" and having a go at people who might just be saying "It's good, but I think it would be better if you ..................." makes you no better than the people who come to the forum just to hate on the project.  People aren't asking you to defend the project; that's down to you, really.

Everyone's language gets censored because, as was told to you, this is a family-friendly forum.  People of all ages visit here, and we don't want nasty language on the forum!

We're not saying we prefer it--positive feedback is obviously preferable! :) I'm just saying people are welcome to voice their criticisms if they do so respectfully. Without criticism, we can't improve our games--and without positive feedback, we'd be a lot less motivated to do so in the first place. Both types have their pros and cons, which why both are welcomed. But as with any post from any member, we do want people to be respectful of one another on here.

I don't know what your post said before it was edited for language, but I know Cat only does those edits for language that gets past our filters somehow. I also know she doesn't edit to take away what someone meant by whatever they said; if you feel she changed what you were trying to say by accident, let her and/or the other mods know via PM. That's the best way to handle that.

can someone retitle this id like to continue this thread

Enchantermon

If you edit the first post of the thread with the Modify button, I think you can retitle it yourself. Not sure, though.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Oh. Never mind, then; my bad, Hero. There's another SMF forum I go to that allows it, but that's probably because I'm a mod there.

Why stop negative (yet constructive) feedback? It's one of the most important things when you release a game or anything else.

that's why.  I am a mod on another SMF forum and I can edit topic titles but as a member you can't by default (there is probably a way to enable it.  SMF is very moddable)
