In the reviews thread, it's the latest one from Diehard GameFAN. Also, right here.

LOL...that review seems to be the polar opposite of everything else being said about the game here and in most other reviews.  He trashes the graphics but praises the voice acting and sarcastic narrator comments.  Wow.  Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  ;)

haha yeah.

I love the graphics and most of the voice acting, but dislike the narrator comments just like everyone else.

that is the only review I have seen with that point of view though

VGA is always fun, even though the 3d TSL is beautiful IMO
I LOVE all the VGA remakes. Can't wait for King's Quest IV VGA, too. Maybe someone is doing VGA remakes of KQ7 & KQ8 as well.

Me neither.  I have said before I am trying to do a 2.5d vga type KQ8 remake.  I still might ennd up making it myself in VGA.  honestly I don't think I will complete it at all but I don't want to be that pessimistic.  lets just say not any time soon.

KQ7 with KQ5 interface.

now that would be interesting too.

That would be awesome.  KQ1-8 (and maybe possibly even TSL) all in VGA point n click style.

Make a 2D VGA remake. Please, please, please!

KatieHal

I think a VGA remake of MoE would be great. Much better than doing it in "old school 3D" as was an idea someone else had. I'd definitely be more likely to play it!

yeah.  I love DMD's other ideas for the remake, but I really don't like the old school 3d idea.  modern 3d maybe.... but I really have a thing for AGS/KQV style VGA.

Oh it's no where at the time being.  I am trying to come up with some preliminary storyboard stuff but I won't have a demo or anything real for a while.  Basically in the short term I need some people to help with outlining the whole story, making a storyboard, write a little script, then I need to program it and eventually get good artists.

It's not a small task.

You should track down DMD. He has great enthusiasm for a VGA version of MoE.

Didn't he get banned? I can't seem to find his profile.  :-\

Anyway, I wouldn't mind helping with the storyboard and script, as long as I can work with others. I'm not very good at single-handedly creating a story, but I can usually get a lot done when I bounce my ideas off others. It shouldn't be too hard though. MoE already has a main plot, but the story would need that "Je ne se qua" about it to make it attract the VGA fans. It might even be respectful to avoid a lot of the events in MoE, and try to translate them to a more "King's Quest"-esque standard. Using the grappling hook in MoE was fine, for an action game; I don't know how that would work well with a VGA title to use a grappling hook on and off, and over and over again.

Ahh. Peculiar as to why he would request that. But I'd rather not delve into another user's personal business.

I have talked to him.  Not really since he deleted his account.  I have is email adress and stuff still though.

He wanted to make it more 3d.  initially he wanted more of a first person 3d with old school graphics.  then he wanted a 2.5d kinda thing.  3d characters and sprites, 2d backgrounds with a KQV interface.  I like that idea but would prefer pure 2d.  He might still want to help if I get a 2d KQ8 project started though.

Fierce Deity: read this:

LOADS of good ideas and info over there.  Picture some of those things, but in VGA instead.

IT would be more true to roberta's original story intentions, but it would still be 2d.

yeah, I could use some help.  trouble is I am kinda the same way, lols.  maybe we will get a little further though.

Maybe you should remake a shorter KQ game first. How about Owl's Quest: Every Owl has it's Day? ;)
Btw.: Does anyone have a copy of it?
