It's not a small task.
Maybe you should remake a shorter KQ game first. How about Owl's Quest: Every Owl has it's Day? ;)
Btw.: Does anyone have a copy of it?

lol.

that would be a funny remake.  You kinda have a point, it's a huge task.

I want to complete it though.  If I get a good team going and we don't lose direction it might be possible.

He still has accounts on other forums. If you wanted to find him, I'm sure you could.
I think he's KingsQuest1995 on Infamous Adventures' forums.

Atec, that thread was very enlightening. There were a few things I disagreed with. For instance, I don't think Connor should keep that "Arabian" style of clothing from the concept shots. Clearly, many of us have already imagined how Connor looks, and he doesn't look like that. Also, the idea of Connor coming to life after already being a statue is an interesting concept, but I think it could be worked with to make him more "human". I do however like the idea of Castle Daventry being in the center of the Kingdom and then have the lands radiating out from it. The notes that were at the bottom of the post also got me thinking about a cool puzzle that could work with the format of the world and its progression.

Yup, so if you can get a team going, I'd like to help out anyway I can.

He is.  He first contacted me about continuing the remake over there.

Cool! Thanks a lot!
no problem.  hope it works for you, it was the only one I found that didn't take me right to a "file removed" or 404 not found.

I'll tell you.  Remaking any game is a LOT of work!

Atec,
Personally speaking, I hope you do make a remake o MoE.  That's the one game of the KQ series I never hot to play.  I had the old cd-rom set in the purple box that was KQ 1-8 plus mother goose's mixed-up nursery rhymes, but never got around to playing KQ8, then my cat (who's 12 now, but at the time he weighed 20 pounds and the poor boy now seams to either have an abcessed tooth/major mouth infection or oral cancer) sat on the box, and broke the install disc.....and around that time we ended up having to have our hard drive wiped.  I now have the set that just has KQ 1-7 on it...the Vivendi 7 game pack that was released in '06

I've wanted to play MoE, so if it gets remade I will finally get to

You can also buy it from gog.com, which is the only way to get it to run properly on newer machines.  :)

I had looked on amazon and even contacted one of the sellers.  See my laptop (which I got in '08) has Windows Vista Basic on it

Well, that's the thing.  The old CD version of the game won't run properly on Vista (or XP) for that matter.  Good Old Games (gog.com) sells a patched version of the game that fixes the problem.  As far as I know, it's the only way to play the game on newer PCs.  Plus it's pretty cheap, and you get KQ7 with it as well (it's part of a bundle.)

My KQ8 ran on XP.

Too bad I no longer have XP.  still trying to get MoE to work on WINE.  when I do that, I will be happy.  I bet the gog version works on wine.......

MusicallyInspired

Those who can't get MOE to run should try Collector's patch from the Sierra Help Pages. I still have yet to try it myself.
