How do you trekkies feel about the new movie?

It was absolutely incredible. The Spock vs. Kirk stuff was awesome.

Which was the one with the flute? :) That one was my favorite when Picard lived a whole life that wasn't real...

These are the voyages was perhaps one of the best Enterprise episodes ever. Though Through a Mirror, Darkly was superb as well.

As for TNG, it definitely had some great episodes (one of my absolute favorite episodes of all-time for any tv show is The Measure of a Man. I love Data, and Measure of a Man was a perfect episode for him.). And chain of Command was also superb. THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!

Out of curiosity, has anyone here ever heard either The Picard Song or The Worf song? Both are great, and I suggest youtubing them if you haven't heard them yet. I'm still waiting for someone to do The Sisko song... I don't care what people say, I love The Sisko, the Emmisarry of the Prophets, Commander of Deep Space Nine! LONG LIVE THE SISKO!

And to be honest, I never really liked Frame of mind... There was something about it that I just didn't like. But I will admit that it was, once again, great writing. It just doesn't rank among my favorites...

I didn't care for The Worf Song very much, but I loved The Picard Song enough to put it on my iPod. :)

I can't remember enough about specific episodes to pick my favorite ones (it's been too long since I've watched Star Trek), but that being said, pretty much any episode that had Q in it was a recipe for awesome.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

This is why I'm not a Trekkie, I can't recall any entire single episodes. Bits and pieces of some episodes, but none of them in their entirety grabbed me.

Farscape on the other hand.....
"If your translation is correct, that was 'May a sleepy hippopotamus lie down on your house keys,' but you're not sure. Unfortunately, your fluency in griffin-speak is too low."

That would be The Inner Light. He lived a whole life which only took 25 minutes in real time. He learned to play the flute while living that life and he plays it in future episodes after that as well. Thought that was neat.

Picard Song is the best. I heard a short remix one time but it wasn't complete or anything. It's too bad there aren't more remixes. That is such an epic song. I especially love the 3 music videos that are out there for it. Didn't like the Worf song as much. The Frame of Mind song seemed like it was trying too hard.

Frame of Mind the episode, on the other hand, was a genius bit of writing. It was so neat seeing all the metaphorical things happen literally and seeing Riker figure it all out. Brilliant sub-conscious type story. Don't know how else to describe it. A Stargate SG-1 episode reminded me of it. The one where Teal'c keeps switching back and forth between the real world and living his life as a fireman on Earth and neither of them seem to be making any sense.

I generally can't, either. It took me some searching to find which episode that was.

I didn't remember all of those episodes by heart. I had to scroll through an episode guide to jumpstart my memory by reading some titles. In a couple instances I did have to read the episode description, though. Haven't watched any Star Trek in a while. I've had the Season 6 and 7 DVD packs of TNG for too long and I'm sick of watching them all. I need the earlier seasons. But they're all still so stinking expensive. I've only recently seen a slight price drop of $3 lately. Before that the only discount they got was in anticipation for the new Star Trek movie when it was coming out. It was quite a discount but I hadn't the money at the time.

My personal favorite episodes of TNG would be:
Birthright Parts I and II (Klingons singing is always a win and the underlying theme of remembering and appreciating your culture and heritage is very profound.  And you get Data's dreams!)
Chain of Command Parts I and II (have I mentioned that there are FOUR lights?)
The Inner Light (Just a touching, well-written, well-acted, creative episode.)
Masks (psychotic Data and alien mythology!  How can anyone not love this episode?)
Darmok (when I first watched this episode I was young and thought it was the most boring thing I'd ever seen.  Now I realize how brilliant it truly is.  It's a whole episode built on communication and bridging cultural gaps.  It is the most purely Star Trek episode that trek has ever done.)
The Drumhead (Picard's monologue at the end is just fantastic.)
Genesis (it's just so much fun to watch the crew de-evolve)
and of course All Good things.

In DS9, my favorites would be:
In the Pale Moonlight (best episode ever)
Waltz (got to love psychotic, narcissistic Dukat and his need to be validated by Sisko.  And hearing him justify the Occupation and truly believe that the Bajorans should thank him for not killing more of them.  Dukat is evil.  Charismatic, but pure evil.)
Rocks and Shoals (It was not my life to give...and it never was.  This episode is awesome.  That is the order of things.)
By Purgatory's Shadow/By Inferno's Light (Go Martok!  And it has Garak and a gritty, bitten Bashir!)
For the Uniform (Sisko vs. Eddington!)
The Wire (it's an hour of pure, uncut Garak and you end the episode knowing even less about him then when you started)
Duet (one of the most poignant episodes of Star Trek, and DS9 did it in their first season!)
Apocalypse Rising (more Klingons!)
and of course What You Leave Behind, which is the best finale in the history of trek.

I'm going to have to take more time to go over TOS, VOY, and ENT.  I'm not going to lie though, I completely disagree with These are the Voyages.  And by "completely disagree," I actually consider it to be the worst episode of Star Trek.  Not just Enterprise, but the entire franchise of Star Trek.  I can't describe how disappointed I felt watching that finale, but that's another topic altogether that I'll probably post on later.  Anyway, those are my picks for TNG and DS9.  I could go on for paragraphs on each of those episodes, they're just that good.

Yay!  I finally have an excuse to show this!  I went with this link because of the larger resolution.

I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

ROFL! That's awesome; I never knew that there was an FMV Star Trek game, much less one featuring Q.

I don't think "These Are The Voyages" was particularly good. I just enjoyed it. It was nice to see Riker, Troi and the Enterprise D again. The story is pretty silly. But then again, what can you expect from an abruptly canceled show?

Just curious what you Trek-guys and gals think about this one:

Star Trek: The Next Generation: A XXX Parody -- OFFICIAL TRAILER

The trailer is totally SFW, it's only to introduce the plot. The production values look good and the story atleast feels like it's on par with the couple of episodes I've seen.

I'm actually speechless.  I don't know what to think.

Yar, references to Yesterday's Enterprise, Sela, actors that look vaguely like the original characters...this porno actually seems to be more of a Star Trek then the most recent movie was!

I'm sure that opinion will change once we see the Picard Maneuver, but still...

EDIT: Ok, so I checked the related videos from the same group and they've done parodies for shows like Reno 911, Big Bang Theory, and Scrubs.  And the writing is just as decent on those previews as in this one.  I actually kind of want to see these movies now, and not for the porn.  (Ok, not just for the porn.)  It actually looks like they had writers who gave a crap.  Then again, it's possible that the previews are all the original material to be had in the films and the rest is just sex.  Still, it's actually refreshing to see that there's filth that cares.
