Getting the smiley added to the forum set.

I see. I happen to be the proud creator of the :watchout: emoticon (more accurately, the one who extracted the snake's sprite from KQV and prepared it), so we both have one emoticon to our names. Pretty cool.

Yes indeed. :D

Interested to see what you have in store for the second (hypothetical) contest, since you're lot better than me at this digital art stuff. :D

kindofdoon

The same to you!

Don't be fooled, I'm actually quite unartistic in real life. Without Photoshop my artistic ability is that of a young child!

What do you have in mind for the theoretical contest?

lol same here, except I only know how to use Paint.net which isn't as advanced as Photoshop, nor would I have been able to make some of those cool wallpapers. I've tried a little bit of pencil drawing, trying to copy other sketches, but I'm really much better at programming than art. :P

Haven't even thought about what I'd submit, been too busy with the current smiley conversions. Hmm... my only other idea when we did the first one was a pirate smiley, and we've got that one now...

I've never used it, but I thought Paint.net is sort of a 1:1 freeware version of Photoshop, much like Open Office is for Microsoft Office.

It's close, but not quite as powerful yet, as I understand it anyway.

Thanks! I shall work on hug next then. :) Temporarily stumped by  anyways, it's put together differently then the others...

Sidenote: It may be just a problem with my computer, but the  smiley is having a transparency issue for 1 frame of the animation (when his face is completely facing away).

Hmm, looks fine on mine, but I haven't tested them on anything but firefox. Ill look at it. Do you know anything about gifs? Cause I'm really just going on what I learned yesterday afternoon playing around in the gif maker I'm using. :P

KatieHal

There's a better shocked one somewhere that i had hoped to find when I found that one...I'll see if I can dig it up elsewhere.

No, my only experience is with still-frame images. Making emoticons will be good experience and knowledge for future image editing.

Also, FYI, I'm using Chrome on a Mac.

Ah. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to test on, but I'll try redoing it and see if that helps. That was the first animated one I did and I think I may have screwed something up trying to figure out how it works. All the other animated ones work fine right?

Do any of these work?

kindofdoon

Yes, all three look perfect to me. What did you change?

One's the same, just redone, one has a different setting on how to handle transparency, and one's from a different and much simpler gif editor. I think I just messed up that one frame the first time somehow.

kindofdoon

Awwww. I like the new emoticon.

How's this one look on yours Doon? Trying out a new editor.

Looks fine! Nice work as always!

What's the editor?
