It's only going to be 62 degrees here in the desert. We are hitting the freezing point at night as well. So cold

I live in Watertown, which is near Boston.  Now I've just gotta ask my sister...

Erik and I will be on the road, driving from Tennessee to Texas to see his family for the holidays. Wish we could make it!

I live on the South Shore, so I could see about coming.  What it be a lunch or dinner?  Anybody know if they have parking?

Welcome to the forums!

As it's a Sunday, I'm thinking we'll be going closer to lunch than dinner, although an exact time hasn't been decided.

For parking, look up what parking is available in the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area in Boston. Garages won't be cheap, but there are a few in the area. There is some street parking around there, but it's hard to find spots that are open where & when you want them.

If you have easy access to public transportation, I would recommend taking the T into the city and getting off at the Government Center stop.

Thanks!  I will try to keep my calender open.  I'm fairly new to the Boston area and it would be nice to meet some people who share my passion for adventure games. ;D

Oh, I'm totally dumb. I forgot that the day after Christmas is also the day my family does Christmas so I'm probably going to have to work and then do family stuff, so I guess I'm out. :(

I'm hoping to be able to go. I'm gonna try and drag my friend down with me who's been rather stubborn about visiting the website. I just gotta convince my parents about this whole thing... Granted, I have a car, and I am a legal adult, so I don't really need their permission... I'll keep all of you informed.

I still live at home and am not at the mercy of my parents. I just tell them where I am going in case there is a problem and they need to come and get me. My sister still lives here too but is hardly ever around now.

still live at home myself, and normally I just do the same. But, they're gonna ask questions about why I'm going into boston. They're not into the technology age, and they will most definitely tell me they think that going into boston to meet you guys will result in my body being dumped in some nameless river. Trying to reason with them is futile sometimes... Coincidentally, they also don't exactly know that I work for Phoenix, but I am a legal adult, as I was when I joined the team, so I don't really need their consent. Back in the day I did, but not anymore. The glories of being 19...

My parents are by definition of the law senior citizens, so I've got REALLY old parents. My mom litterally can't change the channel on the tv. I sincerely wish I were making that up. Technology is like magic to them. So telling them that A, I work for a game development company with it's headquarters on the World Wide Web, and B, that I'm going to meet said game development company in person, will likely end badly. They will most certainly try to tell me that Jack the Ripper is among the team members and I'll end up as a scholarship fund at my old high school and/or college. And that's not much of an exaggeration either. The Jack the ripper part is obviously, but everything else? true. Kinda sad really...

We must be related.

Long lost brothers, perhaps? XD nah, I don't think so. But, on the upside, my parents have no idea what the term Firewall means, so I could get away with just about anything on the internet growing up. But at the same time trying to explain something to them is like talking to a brick wall. I actually tried teaching my mom how to play video games one day. BIG mistake. Biggest waste of five minutes in my life. I gave up after she kept fumbling with the controls. At least my dad can use a TV and play King's Quest... That's about the extent of his technology knowledge. He once told me, "Chris, where is the VHS for the DVR?". My response? I just stared at him for about five minutes with my jaw dropped. "Dad, do you know what DVR means? It stands for digital video recording. VHS' are so five years ago..." I'm pretty sure he's still puzzled, but he at least uses a DVR now. He just never asks me where the VHS is anymore...

Lol. Both of my parents are in computer-related fields, so I can't match your story of technical ineptitude.

I actually consider that a good thing. I'd find it sad to learn that my parents aren't the only ones out there with this level of difficulty.
