Just got it. Unfortunately I'm having some FPS issues (imagine, a computer that can plow through modern games but struggles with Minecraft). I think there's some sort of memory leak because whenever I attempt to run it, the performance degrades until my computer complains of low memory.

And here's an aerial shot of the foundation I've laid down for the Castle of the Crown.  Done for tonight, tomorrow I gotta do a bunch of Episode 3 work but I'll leave the server open for other people to come in and play (Doon did today!) and get to work on laying down wall lines, doors, the garden, etc. if I have time.

I'm watching tutorials for today, learning some cool techniques. I'll jump in soon.

EDIT: I'm now fully prepared to take on the Minecraft world. The site seems to be down at the moment though. I'm getting a 502 Bad Gateway message.

Looks like the server will actually be down for a while, we're heading up to the in-laws for a visit and I want to work on stuff up there but they don't have internet (I know, it blows my mind too).  I'll be back this afternoon sometime and will bring the server back online then.

Update - Drunkenmonkey came and mined like a mining fiend for a while today, and I did some terraforming to clear an area for the village.  My first attempt at two actual buildings below (bookshop and pawnshop if you can't tell, not a whole lot of variety in building materials):

Hmmm...Are you brave enough to try to model the lamp peddler?

At some point I'm going to figure out how to set up a server and start working on re-creating the Green Isles and then everybody can come by and play around.

did somebody say "Server"?

Couple new shots of the village after the three of us did some work on it today.  At one point like 30 chickens randomly spawned all over the village in and on top of buildings and caused some chaos.

After the semester's over, which will be around Dec. 6 or so. If I get on now I'll want to play, and I'm horribly behind as it is. :P

Here's a more recent picture of the Village square at night, now with grass planted and nice sand trails. (view image full-size for the full experience)

Buildings from left to right: map peddler, lamp peddler, Four Winds, the restaurant whose name eludes me, and the clothes stand (I think).

The fountain looks so pretty at night! Nice work, Weldon!

Now to see if I can find some time today to go and take a look at all the grass you got planted in there.  Gotta get a few other things taken care of first, but the server will be up as soon as I get home.

I like that there's a cow hanging out in the clothing shop, which is also right next to the tavern - very convenient.

LOL. Oh, I also finished the tree farm. It contains about 64 saplings and will be quite dense once all the tree grow. It pretty much fills up the entire Netherlands. If you decide that you need the space for something else, the closeness of the trees would allow us to light everything on fire with just one use of the flint and steel. And there wouldn't be any risk of spreading fire because it's surrounded by sand.

I assumed it was Lolotte from the green skin and black cloak.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!
