Hee. I'm weird in that, if it's not too cold and I don't have to be anywhere important (i.e., I'm heading home), I like walking in the rain, even without an umbrella. There's something oddly soothing about the water running down over me. Maybe it's just that rain suits my general state of mind. (Plus I love the water, anyway.)

The sun doesn't have to shine, but rain is taking it a bit too far in the other direction, for me. I don't mind the rain, as long as I don't have to be in it. XD Since I can't properly swim (I lack the technique, and my endurance has always been extremely low) I have a natural dislike of large quantities of water. :-X
It's just in the liquid state I don't like water though, and in the completely frozen state. In the half-frozen state (snow) I love it. ;D

Heh, see, I hate snow. :P Being wet is wonderful, and being cold is unpleasant but tolerable. But being wet and cold just sucks, IMHO.

I'm now going to do something very unusual and that's getting back on topic but I just thought of something else to counter this cursed DST-problem. It might not work for everyone, but it's just a thought.
See, one of the 'advantages' of DST is longer evenings. However, if you start the day (i.e. work) one hour earlier, you end it one hour earlier, and you still have the same period of evening left. 8)

And what difference will that exactly make, except for confusing people even more? ???

The ones that like the advantages of DST, can shift their day-routine one hour, while the ones that don't can stick to their former routine. Even now, I start work one hour later than the rest, and go home one hour later, so why should such a thing confuse people?

Provided that their boss/circumstances allow them to. Most people I know can't just decide to come to work one hour later and leave an hour later :-\

Most people I know that come in an hour late to work would get fired (unless they work for the Government ;P).

I don't come in an hour late, I come in at the end of our 'sliding start'work-time and stop at almost the end of our 'sliding stop'work-time. We can start work anytime between 08.00 and 09.15 AM, and we can stop work anytime between 4.00 and 6.00 PM. It is possible to start working before 8 AM and after 6 PM, if you have authorization from your departmant manager or other special duties to perform. Ofcourse, we have to work 38 hours/week but apart from that, we can schedule our daily work-rhythm(?sp) to our liking. 8)

Sweet!  I had a job with flex-hours last summer and it was really great.  Later on, I made it the same times everyday, but it was kewl because if I wanted to take a day off, I could adjust the other days accordingly.

This summer I'll be lucky if I can even find a job. :-\

Technically speaking, I think it'd be possible to squeeze a day off from our flex hours, if you come in at the beginning of our start-flex and go home at the end of our stop-flex. Nobody in our company does that though, and certainly not me. To start at the beginning of the start-flew I'd have to get up much earlier and due to the fact I'm an evening person, I can't go to bed too soon, so I'd have too little hours of solid sleep and that's not a good idea. :-\

I wouldn't despair too soon, Yonkey. After graduating I was also about two years unemployed until I found my current job. And I want to tell you my current job was worth the wait, certainly the colleagues. :D
