Haha not sure, probably the Forum Administrator part more.  But even the part about Web is fun.  I can ban people not only from the forum, but from the site too! !!!

In other words, don't get on Yonkey's nerves. That might have been what caused my pumpkin characteristics.  ;D

I think I first found the site by following a link in a profile on the official MOE-forum. But, IIRC, I didn't join the forum yet (if there was one). I subscribed to the "Four Winds". Then some time later, I notice in my logs, I subscribed to the "Four Winds" again, so I must've returned, and that's probably also when I registered at the ex-ex-ex-ex-forum. 8) If we'd had 'View New Posts' at that forum, I might have used it then. ;D

The forum we had when I first joined was atrocious. Wasn't it vBulletin or something? Geez, what a crappy setup. If we had kept it, and had gained the traffic we have now, I would have likely given up out of sheer frustration.

Fortunately, we have this, which kicks butt, and someday we'll have the Simple Machines thingy, which also kicks butt. <3

IIRC I joined the one before vBulletin. :D

What Simple Machines thingy would you be talking about? ???

The YaBB SE (this forum's current software) team is no longer creating YaBB versions, and instead is working a new forum software concept called Simple Machines. An online friend of mine installed a test version a while back to play around with, and had myself and a few other people help, and it totally ruled. ;D

Yup, our team is actually using RC1 of SMF.  XD

The only thing I don't like about it is that they don't have Super Stickies yet. :-\  It's way too complicated to adapt the ones for these forums to SMF.  I even contacted the creator of them but no response.  :(

I think this forum works the best, out of all the forums that I've joined.

Really? Nuts. Well, maybe they'll include it in some mod or future iteration or something.

This YaBB forum software is very nice, though. phpBB isn't bad, but it doesn't seem to handle read/unread matters as well as YaBB. The only other software I really have experience with is vBulletin, and well...

There's only a few things I like better about phpBB... their more options of memberlist sorting and automatic calculation of posts per day, for instance. But that's really fluff stuff... the read/unread thing is more important to me. One thing I do wish someone would concoct is an easier way to link to specific posts... I don't think I've seen any forum software with that yet. :P

Of course, there's also the el cheapos like EZBoard and stuff, but the less said about those, the better.

I just was looking forward to playing around with the neato features of SMF. Ah, well.

That's what I'm hoping for.  There are some people that want sticky ordering, but since most users wouldn't it would most likely be a mod rather than a standard feature.

SMF has a bunch of fun useless fluff like that! XD  Average posts per day, male to female ratio, top 10 topic starters, etc.  Not to mention a whole plethora of great admin & moderating features.  ;D  I'd love to switch these forums over soon, but Super Stickies or something equivalent is something we need first.

Yes, Yonkey, but SMF has happy fluff stuff *and* good cookie handling! phpBB only has the fluff. (And is lacking a lot of other good fluff and features that YaBB has.) ;)

I think we may have just scared all the guests off.  I'll just let you guys know that I couldn't follow any of that!  (of course, that doesn't mean anything, since I can't follow anything that talks about technical computer stuff)

Out of all the forums I've joined over the years, this one was the first (and only) to have links leading to my first unread post in a thread. ;)

Let's see here, average posts a day: about 15 I guess.
Male to female ratio: no idea.
Top 10 topic-starters: I'll most definitely not be in that list. 8)
