I still play Rogue every once in a while, but it gets a little frustrating because it's nearly impossible to win. Still fun, though.

Yeah... and there's no second chances (unless you back up your save files). I think the newest incarnation is called "Nethack" and has a pony, kitten, or little dog

Yeah, when my uncle gave my sister and me Rogue we were too young to grasp the command line and all that, so he wrote a little batch file for executing the game that backed up the save file and loaded it for us so as long as we saved, we could keep trying over and over. Still never made it though, though.
