I don't mind waiting for a GotY version. It's a better investment in the long run. Besides, I have too many games to play as it stands. It'll give me time to catch up.

I'll wait for the GOTY edition. I still have to play Fallout 3 yet.

This is my guess.

Dovahkiin, For the King, for the sake of Skyrim.

That's interesting, but it is easy to hear things that aren't there (e.g. Benny Lava). Nonetheless, that was pretty cool.

I loved Morrowind.
I LOVED Oblivion.
I can't wait for Skyrim! It sounds like it's going to be even better!

Based on those specs, I'd need to wait until I get a better computer.  Was there anything about providing a Construction Set for this game?
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

They'd be fools if they didn't make one available.

I will believe that iff (<-not a typo) I see actual gameplay footage from Bethesda post-release or I play it myself.

Any word on Levitation? Imagine Morrowind, but replace the Cliff Racers with D R A G O N S ! ! ! (the cliff racers from h e l l !)

...wait... asking you for word is silly... I have google too. :P

They removed mysticism because it is was useless and the spells fit better in other categories.

Anyone ever play a Mysticism focused character? Ever? EVER? Me neither. :P

Ya definitely not.  Totally great that they got rid of it.

Mysticism is a utility school, like Alteration. Now, you might play an Alteration-Illusion hybrid character (stealth-mage type character, anyone?). The true beauty of Mysticism is in Morrowind: Mark, Recall, and the Interventions. Even in Oblivion tho', Mysticism was still home to such staples as Soul Trap, Telekinesis, and Detect Life.

Actually, a Mysticism character using Absorb Health for his attacks, totally viable in Morrowind. With the added bonus that when crap goes bad, you had 3 built-in escapes: Recall, Divine Intervention (totally shouldn't have been removed in Oblivion), and Almsivi Intervention. Oo, or (as I did with my Morrowind char), you could stack the effects, consider stacking Mark with an Intervention: now you can leave the dungeon, restock, etc. and come back with a quick recall. Not to mention the access to Soul Trap such a build would afford you. (Mysticism spells were often hard to cast: because no one levelled up the skill (similarly with Conjuration, though those actually had a higher difficulty).

Calling Soul Trap useless is akin to calling oxygen useless. ::) Also, under the in-universe definitions of Mysticism, certain Mysticism effects did not fit anywhere else (the interventions, mark and recall, telekinesis (which also makes a nice argument that Levitation should have been Mysticism), and that all important soul trap you need for making precious constant effect enchantments).

They probably mixed a lot of the spell effects into Alteration (and probably put the absorbs into Restoration as IIRC they already did in Oblivion). Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that Soul Trap has gone the way of the dodo (or more to the point, the way of the Climbing skill from Daggerfall or perhaps most accurately Levitation from Morrowind ("We can't balance that! Let's just cut it instead of being creative or coding things smarter to handle it."))

Most of mysticism was usless, anything that was usefull with it will probably be moved under a different category.

I have never ever used Soul Trap, Delling. Not even once. I sold every soul stone I ever got -- and some of them sell for quite a lot! The only Mysticism I *ever* used was Telekinesis and that was rarely, at that.

I have created a stealth mage (I name it "Shadowed Mage" when I created a custom class for it), as you talked about. In fact, probably my favorite thing to play. :D

I am a HUGE fan of the series.  This is how RPGs should be made unlike Final Fantasy XIII.  Don't get me wrong, it was a great game, but it lacked the adventure-driven charm of a huge world map.  I didn't feel that there was enough free roam exploration in that.  Oblivion, on the other hand, offered that free roam fun while at the same time maintaining the charm of traditional RPGs- though it was not turn based.

IMHO, Wild Arms 2 meets modern technology would be an ideal RPG.  They just don't make them like they used to and if nobody makes modern RPGs that are like Suikoden and Wild Arms, someone should start a company that does exactly that as opposed to the countless FPS games out there.  Not that those are bad,  but I just hate it when amazingly fun old genres die because of a population that doesn't know what good games are.
