They've announce the next villain for Batman:The Dark Knight Rises. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman! Tom Hardy will also play Bane.

I'm not too thrilled about Bane, but the inclusion of Catwoman will (hopefully) erase that horrid Catwoman movie from people's mind.

Ooo, Hathaway as Catwoman! I'm excited for that, I love her. :)

I am officially more excited for the next Batman movie than I was before. :D
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Anne Hathaway?  Really??  f***ing Princess Diaries Anne Hathaway????  Thumbs WAY down.  (Sorry, Katie!  ;))

If that's all you've seen her in, Lamb, you're missing out!

Nah, it's not all I've seen her in.  I just have this image of her burned into my mind from that and other movies like The Devil Wears Prada, and I can't help but shudder.

I do too, she's awesome!  But she's so freaking cute.  It'll be interesting to see how she pulls off Catwoman.

Apparently you've never seen her in this movie:

Anne Hathaway can do pretty much anything. Has she ever had a flop?

Bride Wars. Didn't see it, but I understand it's pretty awful.

But that's the only one I think!

Bah.  I guess it could be okay.  I mean, Heath Ledger did pull off the Joker after all.  ;)

We have to assume that Christopher Nolan knows what he's doing. So far, he has only produced critically-acclaimed films.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the Batman movies. I fell asleep during Batman Begins. I'll admit The Dark Knight wasn't bad (ok, it was really good, especially the joker) but I can also do without it. I'll probably see this movie as well, in addition to the upcoming Superman reboot. I want to see what Chris Nolan is gonna do with the man of steel... Am I the ONLY one who actually somewhat enjoyed the Catwoman movie? The game admittedly sucked, but almost all games based on movies do. No surprise there. But I actually somewhat enjoyed Halle Barry as Catwoman. But I'm probably in a minority here... A very small minority...

Awwwww, a 90's baby! ;D

I personally love the Batman movies, but I grew up on them.  The originals were late 80's/early 90's classics, and my big brother was already a huge fan by the time I was born.  Perhaps it's one of those things like King's Quest--you had to grow up on them to fully appreciate them. :)

Well, being a 90's child, I grew up on Batman: The Animated Series (which is a masterpiece of american animation in my opinion). Nothing to me will ever replace that as the best batman series at all. No movie, in my opinion, can out do the animated series. Except for maybe Batman Beyond. I LOVED that show. I own the complete series on DVD, and I love it.

Sorry DD--I saw like maybe 30 minutes of that movie and had to turn it off. It was god awful.

The animated series was inspired by the Tim Burton 1989 Batman. It even uses the same theme song.

Well, I was rather young when it came out, still being in either elementary school or middle school. I can't remember which. Back then, I thought any movie was good XD

When I saw the movie poster it was enough to convince myself to never watch that movie. ::shivers::

Same here! Funny thing, I was never a fan of the series to begin with, I was converted many years later. For me, Batman: TAS became THE reference for Batman.

So DD, what's your favorite Batman movie then? Is it Mask of the Phantasm, SubZero, Return of the Joker... or Mysteries of the Batwoman?
