Poll
Question:
Has it worked for you?
Option 1: Yes
votes: 9
Option 2: No
votes: 10
Pretty much as stated - has the updater (as opposed to the complete 3-episode installer) worked for you or not?
Please state OS and basic hardware as well.
For me, the updater has not worked. Athlon X2 2000+, Windows XP Media Edition SP3 with .NET 4.0 framework installed.
I'm moving this to the Fan Feedback area as it's more fitting for that area than a technical issue that can be closed and locked later. I am also interested in this information, I just want to keep the tech support area dedicated to resolving and closing problems.
Perhaps it might be useful to make it sticky for a little bit?
Indeed it may--stickied!
It worked for me the first time. Windows 7 32-bit, Intel Centrino Duo, .NET Framework 4.

Yup, the update patcher as opposed to the complete thing.
No the Update/Patch for Episode 3 has not worked for me. I downloaded the full thing for it to work.
I am on Windows7.
Intel(r) core(TM)2 duo CPU
32 bit OS
Windows XP Service pack 3. Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80 GHz, 2 GB Ram. It did not work for me. It stopped halfway through the update. Then I had to control-alt-delete, click on processes and hit end process.(I could not hit cancel)...I did this 3 more times to make sure it wasn't just a "hiccup".
I tried the the patch but it didn't work. I have an XP personal computer. The full build installed just fine.
The only problem with this poll - most of the people it worked for are probably off playing the game while everybody it didn't work for (seems to be mostly people with XP computers) is stuck wishing they could. Hopefully we'll have this figured out quickly!
It must be an XP thing. Won't work on my XP desktop, but works on my Win 7 64 bit laptop.
Worked slowly, but worked fine.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM
Worked fine for me.... took about 5 minutes to actually load once I double-clicked on it (due to it loading the entire file into memory perhaps?). The actual patch process took about 10 minutes once the program started, so 15 minutes from start to finish.
Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2GHz
4GB's DDR3 1600 Memory (2x2GB's in dual-channel unganged mode)
Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium SP2
The patch didn't work for me. It froze at 45% or so. Windows XP is it culprit.
Windows XP SP3, 32 bits
Intel core Duo E8600
4 GB RAM DDR2 (dual channel)
EVGA GeForce GTX 260
Didn't work for me :/
Windows XP SP2
Intel Duo core Pentium 233ghz
2GB RAM DDR3
ASUS ATI Radeon HD 5400 1Gb graphics card
AOC 2217 monitor
Inbuilt sound card capable of stereo.
My computer is set up for Photoshop and playing bluray. Not really for gaming >.> I tried the XP patch but it failed so I downloaded the whole game again
This explains about the patcher and XP, and how to fix it. (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=10121.0)
Yeah- it didn't seem to work for me, but it's cool. As I said, I downloaded the whole game again, and although it crashes every 15 minutes, it works. I'll wait for part 4 to come out to fix it properly :)
No, on Windows XP SP3 it didn't work, I had to download the full 3 episodes single file (1.1 GB) to play the game.
I hope episode 4 (and 5) will be tested thoroughly, even on Windows XP.
Mine crashed quite often, usually when transitioning between screens that had musical changes as well. Which was every 20-30 minutes. For example, leaving the bookstore.
