Title: Adding voice to old sierra VGA and copy right permission ?
Post by: John on February 18, 2011, 09:33:49 AM
I would like it if someone could make voice packs to old sierra VGA games. So i am Just wondering about the copy right permission is it ok to only make voice packs to old sierra VGA games?

In my opinion i think it should be ok because the voice packs would only work if you already have the VGA games.

To bad i don't know how to make a voice pack.

Same thing I said before everywhere else you've posted this. Not possible and not worth it.

Well, one fan group tried to do something like that for Monkey Island 2, IIRC.

Then Lucasarts released a collector's edition with speech!

Yeah this is far more complex than just recording the speech and sticking the file somewhere - you also have to rewrite code in the game itself to recognize the speech files, read them, and play the right one at the right time along with setting the ability to skip lines or whatever.
