I have to agree with whomever said something about time travel somewhere. :) When I saw the teaser video for the first time, it's what popped into my head as well. So, my random speculation is:
Something is wrong in the land of Daventry and beyond, something only the great adventurers of King Graham's court can solve. The great acheivements of the court are being undone, and evil is once again spreading across the land. Old foes, long thought vanquished, are returning from banishment and death to wreak havoc on us all. A vision in the magic mirror shows what must be done, but in a cryptic, quasi helpful way. And so King Graham and Co. set out on a massive journey, back through the lands they'd travelled to before, and beyond. Eventually, it is discovered that the return of our evil foes is not coming from the present, but from the past!!! So, our intrepid heroes must hold tightly to their adventurer's caps, and return to the beginning, where the saga of King's Quest began.... and where it will end.
So.... there's my random speculation... any comments, thoughts, smileys that laugh at me, knowing winks and 'I don't know's" are quite welcome. I have finals right now, so this is a pleasent break from immunology :) See you in a few days!

Okay okay, so I'm replying to my own post... which is kinda sad actually. Just writing again to say that regardless of what the plot actually is and what it actually involves, I'm very much so looking forward to it. If I've read it once, I've read it a thousand times, "The plot is VERY deep!". There's nothing I love more than a good story, so cheers!

Mind you... keeping the plot a secret is actually a fun idea, since it keeps us coming back and drooling over every possible plot snippet, regardless of whether it's actually part of the real plot or not. So I shouldn't really complain. But I STILL think that you all get perverse pleasure out of it. I know I would ;D

But going onto plot stuff, I like the idea of time travel, but for sure it looks like Valanice is going insane or something. It actually seems Valanice's past has a lot to do with KQ9, which is good since no one knows much about it.
I bet because she isn't doing too well, it's a good reason on why we won't be able to play her.

IIRC, they said they're planning to make another game, though not necessarily an adventure. Haven't heard anything about a cosole game... aren't those a lot harder to make/market? :-\

My theory is, Valanice's past is coming back to haunt her. At some point before meeting Graham, she struck some sort of a deal with the Big Evil, and now it's coming to collect. That's why she looks so hysterical - she knows what's coming :o
