Aqia Studios is a new community for game design which has been designed by Brassfire (Hero6) and Igorrr (SFLAH). This new website has been specifically for people to discuss amateur game design and creation. Unlike most game design forums that focus on mostly programming and level design, Aqia Studios focuses on asset management, project leadership, and volunteer team management - basically the problems that a non-professional project can run into and ways of solving those problems.
If anyone has any thoughts about what they'd like to see in such a website or if you want to be invited to join, simply click on the forums link below.
In the words of Igorrr, "How can you explain to somebody, how much fun it is to dream about doing something... but how much more fun and satisfying it is going through a hard period of work and later seeing your part finished. If I just had 4 screens and 8 sprites completed a nice demo could already have been done. And a demo like that already gives you a small feeling of success and the fun and power to go on."
We want the site to be a central place for people to post their problems and come up with solutions, as well as to form a network of people who actually work, so that you know who to let into your project.

what a great idea !
I like this a lot, it is a good thought to actually to offer new ideas and good ways to keep up the fan community alive, as well as this whole important movement which we are part of :)
thanks a lot for sharing this important info with us, consider this thread sticky since now :)
i like the idea ;B
Thank you for making the thread sticky :)
its an honour, lol ;B
Project management does seem to be a very important aspect of game-making, and many projects could use assistance in that area, but I'm not on any game making team myself, so I don't think I'd find your site too helpful :-\
Lately, I've been thinking there should be some sort of a meta-site for fan games and amateur games... One site to rule them all :P or at least have links to them. It's hard to keep up with them all right now.
If your site could that as well, it would be useful for the fans as well as for game makers... just a thought ;)

so true :P
I wish I could help them but right now... but I have enough to handle I cant help out even if I wanted to, so I just support it for now :)
I think this is a great idea! Storm's right, this could be helpful for fans and fan-game-makers alike! This way, everyone can keep track of who is making what, and know as soon as a new game starts peeking its head over the horizon!
yay!! ...so when is the site ready?? ; ) ...I mean who is going to make it/maintain it?? ; )
Rob, weren't you going to do it? ;B
hahahaha, i make lousy sites, at least 2 years ago (you saw it Say? ; ) ..anyway KQ9 has the links (http://www.postudios.com/archivedTSL/links/) section now!!
it contains links to various fan (game) sites. it is a start, a good one!! :lovegoggles:
Yup, and that section's still under construction so there are still more links that will be added soon. 8)
