I'm sure it's covered in the 7th Guest article.

This isn't available for purchase yet, is it? If if is, I need to buy it. This book sounds really awesome.

Wow! What a great compilation he has there! I even see Les Manley and Altered Destiny! Sounds like a great comprehensive guide indeed!

Pretty cool, though I'm wondering what the point of buying the actual book is, since the articles he has on the website itself are pretty darn thorough.

But there's crapton more articles in the actual book, duh. Like one about King's Quest for example, or an interview with Josh Mandel.

I'll get it for the ipad, if there is one for that device. Because it'll be in color, and I hate the Kindle. ipad FTW! (I'm also a bit of an apple fanboy. So sue me.)

It would be nice if the Kindle could do color, but I would MUCH rather read on a Kindle than a backlit screen. Also, I don't want an Apple device because Steve Jobs is a control freak. ;)

He may be a control freak, but the products apple turns out are top notch in my opinion. My parents both have Kindles, and I've played with them, and I can safely say I like the iPad more. I get much more out of my ipad anyway; in addition to books, I get internet, games, apps and so much more. The kindle can't say that. Oh, and color. Color is kind of important to me, especially to books that use it.

Yeah my main thing with the Kindle is that it's not backlit so I can read it for hours no problem.  I'll have to look into this book though and see how big of a deal it would be to not have the color.

The screenshots are one main reason why I want it in color. I read the preview the website provided, which was in black and white, and I'm intent on buying it in color. A color version would the book justice, I think.

As for a non-backlit screen, wouldn't that be a bad thing for bad lighting conditions? IE no light? The advantage that my ipad offers me is that I can read it in the dark, and I can easily adjust the brightness right from within iBooks. And the iPad 2, although I don't have it, has significantly better battery life. How do I know this? I played with my friend's iPad 2. We played a rather graphics intensive game, and the battery only lost 1% of it's power. We continued launching and closing apps, and the battery held steady. I'm sure the Kindle has better battery life, but I'm just saying that Apple is catching up in the battery life department.

Yeah it doesn't work well in low light conditions, which is actually good.  Looking at a backlit screen in low-environmental light conditions for long periods of time is actually bad for your eyes.

They have a really nice cover (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003DZ165W/ref=s9_al_bw_ir01?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=011B2X4ECRMKPW61ZF25&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1271693242&pf_rd_i=1268192011) with a built-in light that uses the Kindle battery. :D

A great comprehensive list of popular and classic adventure games. I dare say that a player is not really an adventurer until they've played the majority of the games listed here.

poppycock. my glasses can't possibly be the result of me playing video games and watching TV late at night in a dark room... Of course not.

In any event, let's get back on topic. We can leave the iPad vs. Kindle fight for another thread. I really want to buy this book when I can.

Right here (http://blog.hardcoregaming101.net/2010/11/japanese-version-of-police-quest-2.html).

You know what's funny? When those pictures came out, I sent an email to Al lowe asking if there was ever plans for a "japanized" version of Larry. This is his answer:
QuoteYou know, I do remember talk of Japanese versions but I don't remember if any actually shipped. Back then, the Japanese were far behind us in computers. Not consoles, not office machines, but home computers. They basically didn't exist. I remember Ken saying after one of those trips that no there had a computer at home. When he asked, "How do you track your finances?" one guy replied simply, "That's why I have a wife." End of story.

Now imagine an adenture game about a 50-year old man in leisure suit chasing after 13-year old girls in sailor uniforms with his nose bleeding and tentacle hands ready for action. We dodged a bullet there.
