Title: Bravo!
Post by: Buddy1991 on May 22, 2011, 12:39:22 PM
Finally I had the time to finish all the 3 episodes... Ep 1 and 2 were finished pretty quickly, but Ep 3 was kind of hard at some points... As I have read in other reviews and seen in the Hint-forums many people were having problems with the chess board riddle and the Tower sequence... However, I had more trouble with getting the pinch of lively shaken salt, e.g.

Anywho, I want to congratulate the staff of Phoenix Online for their great work. I think you will remember this piece of art for the rest of your lives, and you can be proud of it! It is coequal with many games that are available in the market! Seriously, I just can't say anything but thank you for this piece of art, and thank you for your time you have invested in this project! The result is just amazing.

Since many people have written their opinions of the game, and they have criticized or praised certain things, I don't wanna do that, too.
BUT I specially want to talk about one part of the game that has not been discussed enough in my opinion: The soundtrack.

Wow. Just wow. Austin Haynes, you are a genious. I am not lying when I say that some of your music pieces are played over and over on my iPod. "The Ranger Watches" and "Such Stuff as Dreams are made of" will definitely stay on my iPod forever! They are just great - I just hope that you are going to do more pieces in style of "Such Stuff as Dreams are made of" - this "nanana/lalala" singing is so pacifying but moving at the same time...

And another wow. Just wow. goes to Amy Kurylo. You have a very beautiful voice. I hope you are going to do something with that voice after finishing your work on "The silver Lining". Love your voice very much! "The Day You Were Gone" is just amazing, altough it's not my style of music!

I am so looking forward to playing the 4th episode, because I really wanna find out what's going on with our royal family!
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

really amazing!

How did you guys "get them"? I mean, don't get me wrong, your whole project is totally respectable and professional, but getting a composer, a great singer and probably a big orchestra playing everything, a recording studio and all that (for free as I assume) is just awesome, and somehow "surprising" .
You guys must have planned and organized everything pretty well, and that is - in my opinion - the most amazing thing in the end.

I really thought about your project, because of its "bigness", and I just realized how much had to be done - stuff we as the players hardly notice or see.
I am not saying that writing a whole new story line falling into place with an already existing one, creating the characters, programming and drawing and creating everything else, so we actually have a computer game in the end isn't a big deal or a lot of work - but all the stuff that was needed to be done "behind the scenes" is actually the essential part. If you had done that "wrong" or without this professionalism you would not have got such great music, such great talents, graphics designer and programmers in the end.
So I am simply amazed by the music and the work that happened "behind the scenes" (as I like to call it ^^ )

Just amazed by episode 3. It was bit hard to work out things without a walkthrough, however the quality of it was great both sound and overall; really felt as good as the old king quest games.
I hope when you finish TSL we will see more stuff from you that we can buy.

Welcome Silverfire! Episode 3 is truly a fantastic episode, technical issues aside; I can say that Episodes 4 & 5 are only going to get better; we've got a lot of cool things in the works. As for commercial Phoenix products, we've got some stuff in the pipeline; our first commercial product will be Infiltrator. It's not an adventure game, but it's fun regardless. It's a top-down 3D Shooter, much like arcade games of old. We'll have more information about it at a later date. I hope you enjoy the forums!
