... or maybe i'm the only one ? ::)
I'm a team member and I needed help. I'm sure Weldon is tired of all my pestering e-mails asking for hints and nudges.
So far I haven't needed any help but I am stuck on Episode 3 still :P
haha, what part?
I'm stuck on episode 3 as well, but more because of a crucial bug that is mac specific; I haven't even tried testing episode 4 yet. I'm too busy making sure episodes 1-3 are in tip-top shape for their inevitable mac release.

I think you mean *Fan's* candles, not Fran.
I can't even name the puzzle right let alone solve it. It's hopeless now! :D

What are we going to do with you, Waltz? *shakes head*
I don't know, that's a hard one and I don't have all the hours to devote to it either. I'll wait for my sister to come back and solve it for me. ;D

Delegating your problems to your sister? That's what I do at work; delegate my work to all my underlings. Which, granted, doesn't happen all that much... I usually close my department at night, all alone. Anyway, I'm debating whether I should try the chess piece puzzle with help or without it once I get back to testing episode 3.
That one is easy once you really look at it. It took me a week for the chess puzzle.

The problem is I've never played chess before... If the puzzle is about chess, I'm at a loss...
It's not.

Good. that will make my life just a little easier.

Who is this "Waltz" you speak of, DD? I know of a "waltz," is this possibly the same person? ;)
And the only one I finished without help is Episode 1. The second one I needed a few nudges. The third one I was hopeless. The chess game? The candles? Eeeesh! :S

So I capitalized the first letter. Big deal.
Capitalizing the 'W' can bring about the end of the world. You must be careful when you wield the 'w' power. :P
It's true, I saw the bright blue sky begin to cloud over as I read that...it was unsettling...
oh pish posh... wait, is that lightning I just saw?!
And I felt an earthquake, oh no.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! IT'S HAPPENING! EVERYONE SCREAM AND RUN IN CIRCLES! :o
Depends on whether you count reading through the code for a scene to figure out how to solve something as "getting help." But also to be fair usually when I had to do that it was because I was playing the episodes at such an early stage that I didn't really have much of a choice since some stuff was still invisible too.
... well, it seems we aren't so much fans to finish the first three chapters without any walkthrough, hint, help or whatever ;D
in my case, the "a pinch of lively shaken salt" ingredient was more difficult for my little brain :)

Fand's candles. :P
Nice catch Stephen, I didn't even notice the double oops on the candle creator's name here.
Drat. But hey, at least I was closer to the name.
Katie, you know you couldn't do all the PR work by yourself; whether you want to admit it or not, you need us little underlings to do the heavy work. Management is about delegating the hard work to underlings and taking care of the "advanced" work yourself. Or so I like to think. I have no management position at any of my jobs so I'm not one to speak.
DD, the winky face means I'm teasing. :P
So does the :P face.
Katie, I knew you were teasing. I was playing along. I'm not *that* clueless, though I can be quite clueless.
Haha. Clueless.

Hey, I'm a tester too... Though I suppose not a very good one XD
Well, I do have almost 5 years of professional experience in software QA...

That would explain it then. I'm just fresh out of high school really, and I totally bombed programming XD My testing right now is more focused on stability of the mac build I guess.
...which is a very important task!
Oh yes, we can't forget out friendly mac users. They need love too.
And they shall have love as soon as we can crush all the bugs that exist in the current build. We're working dilligently on the mac friendly version for everyone.
I found all the ingredients in the first week or two except the salt. Months later I finally looked up a hint.
In other words I got all the way through episode 1, episode 2, and to the end of episode 3 exept for the salt.
I have been in a state of regret since I looked up that hint. Seriously.
I am glad at least someone was able to win the game without hints. I was so close.
I could never win an adventure game without hints; I always need a strategy guide or walkthrough with me. I still get what I want out of the game, which is the plot, I just have a helping hand when it comes to puzzles and stuff.
I really enjoyed this game and I look forward to the final two episodes as well as all future projects.
I hope to be able eventually to design computer games with Phoenix Online but so far I have little experience. Trust me, I can imagine how much work it took to put the Silver Lining together.
I am anxious about defeating Shadrack. I have a feeling it is going to be really hard.
The game was perfect, five stars out of five.

I have no experience designing games either, but I'm learning slowly but surely; we're working on some really cool stuff behind the scenes, and I'm helping out with some of it. I'm learning the game design process as I go along. Mainly, I just do PR work for Phoenix, but I'm starting to branch off in other places; look for my name in new places in the credits of Episode 4; it should be in at least one new location, perhaps more.
Oh yes, we can't forget out friendly mac users. They need love too.

we are working on a mac native port right now; in fact, I just went through the latest build about a week ago and reported a bunch of issues.
I did! I did!
oh, wait....
I almost finished all 4 episodes with no help, at least not directly anyways. I got helped with the hedge maze simply because I thought there was a glitch. The zodiac thing I actually looked up zodiac elements, because I forgot about the four winds articles and I didn't at the time knew it was suppose to empower the objects, I just figure it kills you if you don't do something right so I looked up the zodiac signs. Kinda like how I lost my book to the green isles in king's quest vi and had to look up the logic cliff notes, I don't consider that cheating. The last thing I got helped with cause I was looking up tsl on google to download the games and I vaguely remember it saying something about feeding dogs.
I finished all the episodes without help.
A few gave me trouble. What gave me the most trouble? I didn't know the Bazaar existed.
