Title: Newly Encountered Adventure Games
Post by: DawsonJ on July 06, 2011, 08:21:20 PM
Ok. Recently, I found a Batman adventure game in Point & Click format:

So, which adventure games, old or new, have you recently discovered?

The adventure format is perfect for Batman since he was always first and foremost a detective.

Robin should be the narrator.

"Ben There, Dan That!" and its sequel "Time Gentlemen, Please!" I finished the first one, it's a really funny game. Haven't started the other one yet though, I'll get around to it eventually.

Also, a DS game called Theresia. It's a horror-themed game, and one of the few M-rated DS games. I enjoyed it but there are traps everywhere, so you pretty much have to save every couple minutes. You can usually tell if something is trapped by examining it or poking it with a piece of wood, but not always. Oops, I pushed that book to the left instead of to the right and needles shot out of it somehow.

I don't know whether you guys know about it or not, but Hector: Badge of Carnage is fantastic. I'm eagerly waiting for episodes 2 and 3. I played the iPhone version, but it was recently released for the iPad and the PC/Mac. Please note it's not suitable for children and it's very crude.

Anybody know anything about Lost Horizon. I checked out a demo, and it's pretty interesting. Almost has an Uncharted feel to it.

It certainly sounds interesting. I will have to look for it sometime.

There's a demo on Steam if you guys want to check it out. That's where I found it. I looked up The Whispered World on Steam, and they recommended Lost Horizon at the bottom.

I had forgotten about it for awhile, but in case anyone was interested in checking out more of the Lost Horizon game, there are some video walkthroughs. It looks fun, and seems more of a modern age adventure game (which is rare these days).

That Batman game was based on Batman Returns if I recall correctly. It was a fun game.

You've seen the movie, now play the 100% unofficial adventure game. Warning: May include spoilers for those who have not wet their heads in this bucket of a movie.
