Title: Is it still possible to download episode 1 alone?
Post by: Trollah on September 10, 2011, 04:55:32 PM
Hey guys! Is there still a way to only download episode 1?

I would like to test the game, but 1.1Gb is a little huge when I'd only need a demo. I'm guessing episode 1 alone would be about 400Mb which is more acceptable.

So does anyone have a link? Thanks!

We don't actually have just Episode 1 available all by itself any more.  We made a number of adjustments to that Episode when we released Episode 2 so the smallest one we have available is the version containing both Episodes 1 and 2.  You can download that one here if you like:

Okay! 750Mb make for a huge demo but I think it's worth it. Thanks for the fast reply :)

By the way kudos for the huge work that you've pulled up with the game! It's very impressive that you made something that huge in your free time. It forever proves that your future non-free projects will exist because of your passion much more than your desire for dollars. (and therefore these dollars shall be given in ecstatic happiness :p)

Thank you for the kind words trollah! We put a lot of heart and a lot of soul into the production of The Silver Lining, and we think it shows in every episode we release. It has spent almost 10 years in development, but the final product, in my opinion, is worth the wait. Also, if you don't want to download the episodes because of their file size, some magazines included our full game on their inclucded DVD. Unfortunately, those are all past issues, but i imagine we'll be doing more DVD covermounts down the line, particularly around the time of episode 4's release next month. Keep an eye on the news section for any developments on that front.
