YES! I'm looking at all of you!
I was just reading a thread where Cat and Kim were offering kisses and asking guys to form a line, ad then JROC just tried to sneak in a kiss without me or Say knowing he was cheating on us, then Katie walked in and made out with everyone!
wait what?
EXACTLY!
And now you guys grew up and we don't have no more senseless conversations about absolutely nothing that go on forever and ever. It all became serious stuff about the game, and the story, and narrations, and blah blah blah.
I want some of that stuff back. Bring it back!!!!
*starts dancing like Kim's powerful banana*
It's true, you know. The Asylum is under-used these days. 'Tis a sad. :'(
I propose we use this thread to hold a discussion (and general jesting session*) about the ways in which we all grew up despite our promises to Peter and Never-neverland. :P
*:that I feel I need to explain this is evidence that we have all grown up--lighthearted poking fun at our "responsibilities" and "adulthood"... discussion of what constitutes growing up or being an adult can go OUTSIDE the Asylum :P
I totally agree with you Cez! I don't know what happened, but the insaneness has left :( And it makes me sad...very sad!!
We didn't grow up! XD You just stopped encouraging senseless spam. ::)
And we don't have as many active members and the ones who really contributed to the insanity (The Jaradas, my court, Neil, Say, Kelsey) have kind of all disappeared. :(
(Posted on: 07 October 2011, 14:41:57)
Yes, Delling, we're all very "responsible" adults who spend large amounts of our time playing video games. XD
I know I deal with major insanity every day so it never occurred to me to bring some of it here when I signed up. Well, since it's apparently what Cez wants, I am officially offering kisses. That is what Cez wanted, right? Kisses for all, then.

Precisely... ...if by that you mean we are all emotionally still around the age of five but now people (parents/teachers) can't tell us what to do with our time any more and some of us have to actually feed and clothe ourselves. :o ...and if by responsible, you mean "we have to or otherwise we would die of exposure and starvation", then yes. :P
Now... about this spam we were talking about: once upon a time, in the Land of Asylum, there were two wonderful things--the forum game and the posting spree. We should bring these back... now to bring them back, we will need participants. Time to go find and haul back the oldbies, methinks. That or train up these newbies.

Damar gets it! :D Sorta... :-\ :P

Also, I'd like to point out that I maintain that I have neither grown up nor become boring... just nobody seems all that interested in my insanity. ::) :P
I am!
*takes a kiss while being interested in Delling's insanity*
Man, I was such an e-s***! LOL
I don't remember that one, but I do the days of my Bunny Army fighting the copycats! ;)
XD XD XD You were an e-s***? XD I've led at least six people on here, usually without meaning to. XD :-\

I never got to have an army... :'( 'twas before my time. But I led some entertaining charges in the food fight thread. Dragon-peeps and more were involved.
Waging war in the food fight thread... trying to get admitted into the Asylum... getting sued in the Court thread (Reffus!)... Captaining me pirate ship... fun times indeed. I do miss the insanity. :(
In my defense, I was already grown up (well, physically anyway) when I joined. :P The forums certainly have changed, though. :-\
LMAO@Katie modding herself. This thread just made itself interesting.
I didn't even notice either, haha!
I agree. I've read quite a few older threads, and this forum really died a few months ago. I wouldn't find so much as a new thread each week. And, I haven't seen cookie-sharing posts in months!
*Admits being spanked in conversations with Delling in the past, and offers a cookie to Delling.*
Katie! I didn't know you had an army. Where's your Bunny Army? Is it fighting Cez's Suffer Army on Cupcake Isle, near the Pudding Sea?
Hmm, I think they also at war with someone's killer monkey army. That might've been Cez's! Or maybe Say's?
Yeah, it was a bit of a quiet summer. But we did just post a teaser-y image on the blog! But no one wants to talk about it :(
"I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys' R' Us Kid!" I never will grow up, I will always have my childish innocence and creativity. And I'll always love King's Quest. I remember the insanity. I have limited time on the computer though. Anyone for pumpkin pie for Halloween? It is early though, and most people save the pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. But we could have pumpkin pastries and pumpkin cookies. And there's always Halloween chocolate.....
It really is awful, Cez! I HATE being a grown up! Someone make a de-ageifier! Or, better yet, find someone filthy stinking rich to take care of our "grown up problems" (bills) and let us go crazy. :P
This thread calls for a little Hyperbole and a Half (http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html).
"Clean ALL THE THINGS!"
(fyi, swearing in that post, but it's hilarious!)
OMG I think I wrote that except I'm not as clever. Does that happen to EVERYONE?!?!
I just get stressed and then I have to deal with by tossing myself fully into a fictional world. Since I haven't been getting *any* acting gigs, that means..... video games! Reading til my far-sighted eyes bleed!
And it's been like this since I graduated. Partying with my friends and posting on forums are awesomely fun and I still try to do them but.... I'm *me* when I do them and that's kind of defeating the purpose of being an escapist, isn't it? :P
Please, "grew up?!" What is this madness you speak of, Cez?!
I'm not exactly an old timer, but I definitely know what you mean by the changing of the forums. Even when B'rrr and I were supposed to be "engaged" two years ago things were different! The times, they are a-changing. (Unfortunately. :'()
And THANK YOU, DAMAR!! Here's one right back atcha! :-*
PS WHYYYY do I have to go to work this morning?!
I always tell the kindergarteners at work: being a grownup is OVERRATED.
Of course, according to them I don't work, I get to play at school all day. Funny how they think that when Miss Dundas takes her lunch break, she's going to work for an hour...

I tell mine that being a grown up is awesome. I tell them that you can still keep who and what you are when you are an adult. I am always reading fairy tales and writing imaginative stories for mine. My kids always think that we are working because we tell them that this is work. We make learning a game so they will always remember everything that they learned.
So I don't think I am boring by any means, you are only boring when you make yourself it. You become boring when you give into uniformity and do what is expected of you. Everyone here is doing something that is completely out of norm. You are all special and are not boring.
I resent the implication that serious subject matter is boring. :P

This is a great point, and underscores why you are an amazing teacher. :) I have been unhappy at my job for awhile these days...it's hard to feel The Joy when you're miserable. :(

This. So, so, SO incredibly this.
Awwww, how sad is that?
I think what has to be kept in mind is that a lot of us have grown up in the last several years. Goodness knows I'm not quite the same as I was when I first joined here eight years ago. Although, I don't feel I can get rid of the custom text or signature attached to me, purely through sentimental reasons.
Oh, and I totally feel the "unhappy at work" thing being a hindrance to happiness and/or insanity.
I agree. It's so cliche but it's true. You'll be a lot happier if you love what you do. I have found that in my internship. I spend time with people who love to write and strive to do well. I think a lot of people becoming boring when they lose the creative side of them. Creating and imaging new ways to do things is the way the world goes round, doesn't it?
And yes, the Oatmeal is so hilarious. Probably because it's not much of a stretch from the truth.
Look at us...a bunch of adults discussing work. :P
It's disgusting Haids. Disgusting.
Word.
Oh well. As long as I have a My Little Pony tattooed on my hip I'll never consider myself an adult. ;D
I think we all need My Little Pony tattoos, Haids.
Wait.
No, I guess I didn't really think that through. :P
Uhm, uh... I meant metaphorically, that's what I meant!

Uhh...Yeah. I'm gonna have to go with No on that one. Especially for those of us who look like Chris Farley - not a nice form for a girly tattoo. :P
However, Fun, Wild, and Care-free would be a great attitude. :)
(Not all of us have that attitude - I sure don't -, but it makes for a great goal!)
I refuse to grow up.
I may not be able to stop the growing OLD thing, but one of the joys of life is to be able to afford icecream and eat it WHENEVER THE HELL I DAMN WANT TO! :D
AND I WILL POST ANYWHERE I WANT TO, TOO.
*dances in thread to bring it back to life*
I'm growing up and getting older and older.... Wait my body doesn't.
In my mind I became/become a lot older. I even become a grandpa on some forums (due to age restriction)
So actualy I'mĀ“getting an oldie.
I STILL EAT COOKIE DOUGH FOR BREAKFAST IN BED! :D
I melt chocolate chips in the microwave and snack on the homemade fudge! :D
Also I have a huge collection of bouncy balls still. :D
Growing old is something we need to look after, because health-wise it is important. Like at least trying to keep an active routine? Maybe not work out kind of like, but yes to walking a lot and just not spending all day on your ass :P
But I still get excited to play Mario games on ZNES, I go into toy stores and look at any kind of stupid shiny toy I can find, I watch spongebob and overall I'm pretty much a dork at heart lol. No matter what country/state/timezone I'm in, I'm just me :P
Quote from: Say on October 28, 2012, 10:52:29 AM

Aren't we all? Ok - I guess I can only speak for myself. :P
Well you guys probably do not remember, but I do remember how much hate I'd get (even Cesar!) in other communities because we do tend to be very silly and even though we worked very hard at it then (Cez still does, very very much), we can't take life so seriously 24/7. *Some* people don't really understand that. Or understand what I do or what matters to me, I guess but such is life.
But that sort of happens everywhere. I tend to come across as someone very silly online, in person I seem to be very intimidating and cold because I'm much more blunt, specially in my area which is business. But once you get to be around me for a while, you realize that even though I sometimes don't smile much, I do have a heart... somewhere lol, most of my employees are really close to me at some extent because I guess I'm a different kind of boss. I am a bit of a hardass but I am the kind of boss that if company payroll doesn't pay you on time, I will get money out of my pocket for you and your family do grocery shopping. It is sad to raise awareness that these situations do happen in large international companies at all. If you do make a mistake, I take off my coat and we sit down and fix it. If you have got an emergency just let me know and we work things out, as long as there's communication there is always a solution.
There are things I can get along with, like damage control? Ok, the corporate board lied their asses off and now there are branches on the edge of shuting down due to poor execution of higher management, ok they bring me in. That's ok, lots of work, lots of hate my way and it's fine (from costumers). Things get done, we save over +60 people jobs, that's a bunch of families that will have christmas meals this year.
There are many things I love: honesty, team players, creativity! I love it when people have got ideas, when they care, when they are there, when they want to BE part of things. That's great.
But there are things I just can't and will never get along, now I most certainly know... which are lying to people, scamming people, stealing from people. As long as my name is part of it I don't think I've got what it takes to be a snake, I guess.
I'd rather be me, that's all I can be anyways.
Maybe that makes it very limited when it comes to finding my niche again in the world? I don't know, fact is knowing what NOT to do sure as heck gives you quite the perspective in life. Not just work.

I had to google because you confused me! I was like, no... that word can't be right! :P then when I typed that down a bunch of freaking dolphins came up and hahaha, I was even more confused :P

Lmao I just found this thread because...the title actually applies to my life right now; I go to work, I come home and work, I go to bed, then the day repeats again.
Oh the good old days of innane babbling and dancing bananas!
Here's something un-grown up that I did at the weekend; I flew on a broomstick! That's right I was at Harry Potter students being an absolute child! I got to go on a green screen, have my photo taken and pretend I was flying! The wind machine just made the experience even better!
I then got followed by a death eater who had a staring competition with me (i really do attract the weird guys!).
I never thought I could say I had a staring competion with a death eater and flew on a broomstick
