Well, Jeysie and I were talking last night and she gave me the link to all the NYC Audition pics! Was wondering why I didn't know they existed! Well, I then went on and said that I would have loved to have gone, but even if I had known about the auditions at the time, my mom would freak and I wouldn't be allowed to go (I hate living under my parents' roof sometimes). Well, that got us on the conversation that maybe it's time for another get-together...but this time in Tennessee *angel face* -- hey, it would be the only way I could convince my mom to let me go on a weekend trip! Sooo *looks around innocently* who's interested! lol
Cat
That would be fun. :) I've never been to Tennessee before.
:'(
What are you crying about Kimmie? Come on!
Cat
Yeah, but then I wouldn't be able to go. What? New England not good enough for you people?? ;P
I dunno... New England's not good enough for me. ;P
Tennessee does sound fun, although I'm a bit strapped for cash right now. (Not that I ever have any money...)
Maybe we need regional parties, hee.
Peace & Luv, Liz
I LOVE NEW ENGLAND! It's just that I wouldn't be able to convince my family to allow me to go there...especially when I'm trying to convince them to let me go to London next summer! :suffer:
Cat
Oh....I see how it is. You'd rather go to London than come visit Questie! :'( I'm gonna cry myself to sleep tonight!
Or just stash myself in your suitcase when you go!
Well, yeah! No, I'm just kidding! It's just that how am I supposed to convince my parents to let me go to London AND New England when my mom's still saying there's no way I can afford London and grad school?? And trust me, going to London will be a good cause...I'd be taking a class there...and might be able to meet a couple British people from the forum *angel smiley*
But I have been up in New England a couple of time...well, NYC in particular...I <3 NYC!! Don't know if I'd want to live there, but I LOVE it!
Cat
NYC isn't really New England. Its like..another region all together. :P
I've been to Nashville; went there my senior year of college for the Music City Bowl game, which we won. (GO BC!) (that would be Boston College, fyi...I was in the marching band)
I too am rather strapped for cash, btu have if y'all do get together. :)
Yay New England!! Yay Boston especially!! ;D ;D
I suppose if we did have a get together in New England, it would have to be in Boston....that's, you know, fairly centrally located.
Gotta love Nashville...gotta love the county north of Nashville more! (hmm, I wonder who lives there??) It's gorgeous..."small" town (everyone complains about how small the town is, but I moved there from a town with 611 people...so I know SMALL!) It would be awesome if there could be a get together....but I don't think people can go if they don't have a great excuse (like the one for the auditions!)...but who's to say we can't try!

Its times like this that I could do with a plane. And the money to run. And the lisence to fly it. Heh yeah theres no way I could afford to pay for fairs to America this summer, BA are a freking rip off and untill the cheap ass airways start to offer flights im rooted in europe...
Oh and Cat, tell your mom to grow up! You're in your 20's now, you're not 15!
NYC definitely isn't New England. NYC barely even qualifies as New York. (New York State is waaaaaay different.) It is indeed off in its own strange world.
Anyhoo. Western MA actually is a rather nice place to visit... it's living here that's the problem. :P Still, Boston is more interesting!
As for excuses... science fiction conventions are always good excuses... why hold your own party when you can hijack someone else's? ;) Unfortunately the only two cons I know of off-hand are Shore Leave in Hunt Valley, Maryland in July, and United Fan Con here in Springfield, MA in November. Never been to the latter, actually, but the former was lots of fun.
I don't suppose Questie or Katie know of any conventions near them? Or Koko, for that matter?
Peace & Luv, Liz
Cat, you're 20? I highly second what Alex said!! I had thought when you were saying they wouldn't let you that you were only in your teens or something. You are techinically beyond the age of making your own decisions, m'dear. Go right on ahead and travel if you want!
But Cat can't do that...she's a good girl. :P
And nope, nobody has conventions near me. Although, we have excellent clam cakes and there's Del's Frozen Lemonade (and really, you haven't lived til you've had Del's). Those are good excuses for visiting RI!
Yes, but the parking garages in Providence, at least, are evil creations from the depths of Hell. :P
And I have to admit that Koko is a bit old to be relying on the permission of her parents to travel. I've been doing my own thing since I was 16. (And I was moved out on my own when I was 20.)
Peace & Luv, Liz
>rolls eyes< Providence isn't where I live, don't worry. That's like...all the way over on the other side of the state. By RI standards, that's a trip for me too. :P Still, we could all get together up there sometime in the summer....that would be fun! Always something to do in Providence during the summer. Well, usually...

Lmao. don't worry about me. Nobody ever remembers the Mango, after all.
I'll be over in that corner of forgotten people if anybody cares *dejected*
Who could forget the Mango?? ;)
*cuddles the lonely and forgotten Mango, and tries to pull some money together for a plane ticket for her as well*
Hopefully we have a rich forum member on here somewhere... (http://mason.gmu.edu/~alight/angel.gif)
Thanks James...The most condensed version would be...if I want a roof over my head the next three years while I'm trying to work my way through undergrad and grad school...I really need to stay on my parents' good side (meaning, if I need cash and I'm out...I need to be able to go to them!). One reason I can't wait to have my own place...but except for being in grad school (and who knows about housing at that point) I most likely won't have a place to call my own until I'm about 23...POO! I'm barely earning enough to pay tuition costs right now! So asking to make TWO trips...more likely than not, it's out of the question!
And Mango, I'd love to come see you if I make it to London...I was told that we'll have two long weekends and if I only take one class instead of two, I'll have even more free time!
Cat
Ahh. Well, if you don't have the money, that's certainly fair enough. If you did have the money though, I'd raise an eyebrow at your parents keeping you from going.
Peace & Luv, Liz

whaaa!! I rememberd!! ..that is leanne ; ) ..lol and a lot of other ppl remember you too ; )
..btw i suggest that we all go to Nigeria for a get-together!!
Isn't Nigeria in Africa? How is that centrally located at all?
never said it was centrally located.... just want to go to Africa ; ) ...besides you guys need to get out of your country ; ) ....and i guess noone comes from Nigeria... right?
I actually have a couple connection there. In Port Harcourt.
But judging by the civil stability, I'll pick another African country to go to. Like...Tunisia. The island of Djerba. Went there for Christmas of 1990.
Or how about Australia? It's nice this time of year. (Dammit, I'm never going to make it to a netmeet >:()
Why not Djibouti!?! ;)
The centre of Western-Europe is just perfect for a get-together. 8)

Would you be willing to pay for half of everyone's tickets? ;)
Hmmm...well, I am trying to get up a trip to London *angelic face*
I'm just kidding!
Cat

If you do, Say, can we keep the head and preserve it? We need someone to make smileys and find lyrics to obscure songs from my childhood!!

Why would you bite off my head over asking copycat for help buying plane tickets? :( Maybe I should ask the rich version of my self in the future instead. ;)
