I went here,
http://messenger.msn.co.za/Download/default.aspx
then i clicked next to number 1 to sign up for a free hotmail account.

How can i delete my entire MSN registration, so that i can only use MSN Messenger.

I don't want other junk, i only want msn messenger.

lol Daventry, patience.  No need to go replying to yourself. :P

Like Say said, NET Password is just what they call your account.  Don't ask me why they don't just call it an account, but they don't.
If you already had a hotmail account, you didn't need to sign up for another one.  You could have used the one you had for MSN.....
I dunno how to get rid of one though.  It's free, though.  Maybe if you just ignore it, it will go away.

I don't have an answer for MSN (mainly because I hate MSN, too) but as for the IRC thing, if the Java client doesn't work they could try downloading something like Trillian or mIRC and hooking up that way.

I will not use instant messaging because of the inherent security risk.  However, listen to Jeysie's advice and go with Trillian if you must have instant messaging.

E-mail poses a higher security risk than instant messaging programs. ;P

Can i have link so that i can download a new version of MSN Messenger without going here first. http://messenger.msn.co.za/Download/default.aspx I already have MSN Messenger.

I opened MSN Messenger when i logged on the Internet, then a message appeared, saying a new version of MSN Messenger can be downloaded. I said no, because i don't want to reboot my Computer and start Internet again.

Please give me a link so that i can check for new versions of MSN Messenger and download it.

Eh, is there any particular reason why you can't download it from the link you gave in your post? ???

How do you mean greedy?

I think most people who are scared of MSN just use trillian which lets you use near all of the IMing programs.

Louisiana: Since you're running Linux, give GAIM or aMSN a try. They both have Windows ports too, but the native Linux might run better. (I can't get GAIM to run at all on Win98 for me. :P ) I use aMSN myself, annoying in some ways, but it gets the job done. GAIM's an all-in-one, while aMSN just does MSN.

Trillian is nice for Windows, provided you have IE5+ installed. It's another all-IM-services-in-one deal.

Peace & Luv, Liz

QuoteHow do you mean greedy?

They're worse than they used to be, in almost every way. I used to play games on the MSN Gaming Zone, until they added passports(too much control, I decided not to get one).

QuoteSince you're running Linux

I was looking for a Windows program to use. XP caused me trouble, and now Linux isn't working right(happend right after I got it working on the internet  :( ). To be more specific, it erased GRUB(and I don't know what all else).

QuoteThey both have Windows ports

I didn't know that. Thanks.

*starts downloading GAIM, despite using 98, and aMSN*
