I was wondering why there's no point system. It's a thing I missed in KQ7, KQ8, and The Silver Lining. Did you choose not to use one in your game? Just curious.
I believe they pulled it out to appeal to the more casual audience.
The point system was a nice break from the game. It's on the same level of achievements to today's generation. But whenever I beat a game and found out that I missed one point from earlier on, it spun me into a jealous rage which all of the Twinkies in the world could not subdue. So I guess they made the right decision in the end.
The point system was cool when I was a kid and I had like 3 games total so I had time to play them over and over again. But, nowadays, I prefer a more linear, full points every time path. I don't really have the time to replay games anymore and get frustrated when I finish a game and find out I missed some of the content, especially when it turns out you missed huge chunks.
