lol... ok lets see how many recognize that without looking it up :)
On my version it's
NIKSTLITSELPMUR
lol. the made it easy after a while :)
hehe
i have noooo idea why i know the name off the top of my head after more than 2 decades
Weird things stick with you! I still can recite by heart the riddle that Gate asks in KQ6. :)
yes.... especially when it was a hard slog finding the way through :)
thats why i remember so vividly KQ 1,2,3, 4 & 7 which i fought my way through .......
but 5 & 6... I'm not sure what happened but I missed playing those when they came out and had to 'catch up' after playing 7 in fact... and by that time the temtation to get help which was readily available by then mae one less able to recall things as vividly as I didnt have to struggle to work through those ones.....
lol.... i really loved the typing ones better :)
move to a new frame and first thing is 'LOOK' :)

I just tried to do that mentally and I have it memorized too!
lol whats the riddle?
thats something i dont recall at all (coz my kq5 & 6 were rush jobs ) :D
for the gate "My first is foremost legally, My second circles outwardly, My third leads all in victory, My fourth twice ends a nominee, my whole is this gate's only key." personally I like quoting the sense gnomes I can get all but the intro right.
Five fierce guards of the isle we be
Watch for a foreign man, said he
With ears and nose, tongue, hands and eyes
Its nature cannot be disguised!
If man it be, then man it dies.
See, I can get the intro right, but the actual sense gnomes are a little iffy. :P
Oh man, I can recite that one too! :highfive:
I can do some of the sense gnomes, but definitely not all of them. Mid 90's, when I had played through so many times and was an impatient preteen, I used to just click through the dialogue. I think that's where I screwed myself. :wall:
damn. i forgot now why / where i was in my 'lost years' when i missed playing KQ 5 & 6 at the time they were released

See, I did this too. :P I used walkthroughs mercilessly. :P BUT I can still describe each action and play the whole game in words (with "Find the Dink" in place of "Go west three screens, then north"). :P
Me, I don't use directions like North, West, etc. I'm just like, "No, don't go up, go over. OVER! I MEAN LEFT!" and try to scream out unspecific directions before someone gets eaten by a giant or wolf or something.
I have NOT memorized Mordack's labyrinth, though. It still take me forever to do it, but do it I can. I have to turn the Companion into all sorts of crazy angles while attempting it.
Three roses lay upon the bower
A scythe for he who cuts the flower
A crown, a dove! Most noble race
Thy bones make sacred this dread place
Respect to you all.
"A master of languages will Dancing Man, Awesome Mustache, Target Practice, Seagull."
And the sacred four are Awesome Mustache, Pacemaker Scar, Springy Crown, and Ice Cube in a Measuring Cup.
Oooh, very nice. That sounds like a helpful way to remember that in the future. :P
And also "For men standing in a row. Third from the left and down you go. The rest in order move you on: the youngest, the oldest, and the second son."
Let's see...
"Flesh may cross the portal
and seek its Master, Death.
Flesh may go where Death has trod,
and challenge, like Scheherazade,
He who reigns beneath the sod,
to spare a mortal's breath."
From the gauntlet, not Alexander's "Man may pass the portal..." version.

Deloria and I actually did this. We played through KQV from beginning to end in word form. XD
What's even more amazing is that it happened naturally. XD
Oh winged spirits set me free,
Of earthly bindings just like thee.
In this essence behold the might,
To grant the precious gift of flight.
With this kiss I thee impart,
Power most dear to my heart.
Take me now from this place hither,
To another place far thither.
...hmmm not sure how correct that second one is. :)
er... *not sure if allowed to post these* :sweating:
Silly noonchild, this is exactly the kind of KQ nerdism/nerdiness that this forum is founded upon! :D
(In theory, they MIGHT be the correct incantations from KQ3, but uhm... I wouldn't be 100% certain and that suggests I'd still need the manual or whatever (also a couple of the actual incantations have errors in them and IIRC different versions of KQ3 accepted different levels of correctness for incantations): also, also, we can get around this copy protect feature by playing one of the free remakes. :P )
"Alexander pulls out his magic map."
(Am I doing this right?)
Alexander feels a strange pulling sensation!

According to Mint-drugged Shamir, in one cutscene, it's a "Magic S'map". :P
