Title: For those who pray for strangers
Post by: wilco64256 on January 16, 2012, 07:15:16 PM
Here's one that could really use it:

http://chasemakin.blogspot.com/

Chase is my nephew.  What happened yesterday was just the most unbelievable freak accident.  My father-in-law has taken the grandkids to the park on a regular basis for years without incident and you wouldn't even think of the playground as presenting this level of danger.  The last couple of days have just been totally unreal and it's really tough trying to explain to all the other kids in the extended family what's happening with him.

So yeah if you're into praying for random people you've never met you can at least be certain this one isn't some random spam chain email.  This little guy could really use it.

I'll be saying a prayer for him. I hope he's getting better soon.

I hope that he wakes up soon, in a healthy condition. Based on some of the updates on the blog though, things are looking up. His brain is healing, which is a very good sign. I wish your extended family (as well as immediate) all the best, Weldon.

Praying!

It sounds like he is doing better, but he still has a long way to go.

Hooray for positive improvement!  (That....was a redundant statement. But still!)

May Jesus wrap His healing arms around Chase. He's in my prayers. <3

Thanks for the extra support everybody!  He is showing some signs of improvement today and we're all very happy about that.  It's just been a really surreal (in a very bad way) few days for the whole family and we're hoping to now keep everybody moving in a positive direction.  They're saying he may not need surgery to repair the fractures in his jaw which would be great.  He's already going to have enough crap to deal with in the coming weeks without having major facial surgery as well.

I can't imagine anything as terrible as your relatives (sister?  brother?) must be going through.  No one should have to worry about the health of their child like that.  Prayers sent.

Thanks man.  They are having a pretty rough week, last week they were actually on vacation and my wife and I were watching all four of their kids for most of the week, then some other relatives were watching them for the last couple of days over the weekend.  Chase's parents (his dad is my wife's brother) literally came back into town just in time to find out what had happened and head to the hospital.  It really is a terrible waiting game right now as there's no way to know what the real extent of the damage is until he's ready to properly wake up.

Wow - I imagine the relatives who were watching him at the time feel horrible (even though it wasn't their fault)! I'm glad to hear that his condition is continuing to improve, and I will continue to pray for him and the family.

Last I hear from a couple of days ago is that Chase has woken up, and is in the path to recovery.

It's good to hear that he is improving. Hopefully, his path to recovery is an easy one. He's already been through so much.
