Hahahaha omg people! We're not phone ogres you know! Its just like MSN, you leave it on and when you have something to say you say it rather than typing. Its not like there's mega pressure to talk! Honestly just give it a try first and if it doesn't work for you then fine, but it'd be fun to get some convo's going :)
Oh and I always sound dorky when talking to people on the phone lol I think everyone does if you don't know the person that well.

Anyone tried Skype on a 56k? I've had the program, before this thread was started. Although I haven't "called" anyone, so has anyone here tried it?
I've only tried it with a cable connection. Although, Graham has been asking me if anyone actually uses it! So, does anyone use it?? Whenever I pull it up, no one is on...of course, it could just be my timing, since I seem to have the worst timing in the world!

I binge use it. Sometimes in small binges of half an hour or unhealthy large binges on 9 hours :S eek.
Of course, you binge use it when I'm not on! I think you're beginning to avoid me, Alex! :P j/k! I'm sure you can blame me for the same thing, since we haven't gotten to talk in a few days! lol. Hopefully I'll be on tonight...but definitely a little while tomorrow!!

Well, my experience has been that they weren't kidding when they said it actually sounds better than using a good ol' fashioned telephone. Besides, the whole "doesn't cost you $5 a minute to call South America" doesn't hurt either. ;P

The quality surpasses even regular telephones CC, its really wierd talking on a phone now as I'm so used to hearing things much more clearly. I think the only problem with 56K is that there is a lag when talking, the quality remains around the same as far as I know.
But, you should use headphones or you'll hear awful feedback. And, make sure you have a somewhat decent mic or you'll sound like a motorcycle... *coughSAYcough* ;-D

The same thing happened to me too, yesterday. Just delete her from your contacts, and re-add her. I dunno why it did that, but it worked for me.
I added Jon and now it has a "?" besides his name, the problem is that the authorization never shows pending (if it still is)... well skype is a great program anyhow, it just happens to have a little things as everything, nothing so bad :)
