Post by: rudy on August 12, 2013, 03:52:59 PM
This morning in Croatia, Sierra Chest met Sierra. A dream coming true  :).

Hahaha, you're kidding, right?  On both counts.  Please tell me you're joking!

When you see someone asking a question you think is stupid, do you...

A) Answer their question and help them?
or...
B) Make fun of them?

Come on everyone, there's no need to make it worse for her. She was only recently introduced to Point n' click as a whole as opposed to most of us who grew up with the genre

I was literally making sure she was joking, cause it's the kind of joke I'd pull.  The classic "Who?" post.

Yes, bt. I wasn't joking.

I recognize that mustache thanks to PQ, and I'm assuming the young man in the green is Rudy (never seen a picture of him), but I was seriously wondering who that girl was.

I was actually kinda worried there for a second, since I thought, 'Wait, this is someone obvious isn't it?'

Well THANK YOU :)! (I'm 37 by the way)

That "girl" is Roberta Williams, a.k.a. the queen of adventure gaming, a.k.a. the creator of the King's Quest series (among many other games). She turned 60 earlier this year by the way. And no, there's no Jim Walls in the picture. That's Ken Williams, Roberta's husband. They founded Sierra On-Line together in 1979.

There, all cleared up  ;D

...

...*facepalm with phone* I AM STUPID!!! How could I have missed that?! Ugh!!!

Numbers, you are free to berate me. I deserve it, because I R DUM!

I guess I'm just used to seeing Roberta with her hair down. And now that I think of it, I shouldn't have said Jim Walls, since I've SEEN Jim Walls nowadays and his mustache is WAY longer than that!

*hangs head in shame* I can't believe it! One of my favorite Adventure Game series, and I can't even tell that's a picture of the creators!

*goes to sit in corner*

If there was ever an excellent opportunity to use this smiley, this would be it.

Don't worry, Graham.  I didn't realize who they were either.

First thought: Why did the woman change clothes while the guy didn't?  Did he not have enough shirts?
Second thought:  That neighborhood looks dangerous.  I hope they didn't get shot at after the picture was taken.
Third thought:  Oh, she's driving the boat!  Never mind about the shirt.

Wow, she's 60? She looks great!

On the flipside, I also thought, she's only 60? I think because she's someone I saw as 'adult with a job and everything' when I was quite young, I automatically assumed her to be older than that.

I don't recognize the other person on the boat, though.

That's Barbara, my wife.  ;D

She definately does not look 60.

Maybe living on a boat makes you age slower!
