I've always wondered this question myself, but what do you guys think? 8)
I said murder/mystery...mainly because I love mystery games (see my previous posts a couple months ago about the Nancy Drew games :P)
Cat
Mystery
Considering the writing style of Phoenix(from what I know), the Modeling style(not so much as the writing), and the known voice actors(including Nikita), mystery seems to fit.
I'd go with Sci-Fi, myself.
For one, I'm a big SF nut. ;)
For two, I don't know what genre game you folks would do, but if you would do another adventure, I'd *definitely* love to see an SF one. There aren't a lot of non-Myst-style SF adventures that I know of... especially ones that are serious instead of comedic.
For three, your writers', er, writing style suits the surreal subtext advantages of the genre.
An SF mystery might work, too... ;) perhaps in the vein of something like Isaac Asimov's "Caves of Steel" novels with Elijah Bailey... if anyone aside from myself has actually read them. ;P
Peace & Luv, Liz
Sci-Fi!
I think the Fantasy genre has been over done the last few years.
;)
Western because there arent many Western Adventure games and Freddy Pharkas was a good Western ;D
Sorry I simply have a weakness for Science Fiction... I like blasters :lovegoggles:
deffinetly Medieval Fantasy/Fairy-tale!!
....what can i say, i'm a dreamer ;-D
we should do a game titled :
"Lolita's Supah Adventures"... now, into what genre fit it?! ;P lol
(perhaps in fairy tales? ;P lol)
As long as you promise never to make a game titled "Guarlito's Supah Adventures", we'll all live long and prosperous lives. ;B
hahahaha, I can try NOT to :P but it all depends of Cesar haha :D
being the creative mind... bum... whatever :P ;P

I read them... one of them, at least ;)
As much as I like the Medieval Fantasy/Fairy-tale adventures and would like to see another one of them from Phoenix, I think after KQ9 they'll want to venture into another genre. Not just to try new things, but also to attract fans of other genres.
Personally, I think they'll go with Murder/Mystery - Present-day Occult/Horror... GK4 anyone? ;)
Murder/Mystery! 8)
Dude.. Medieval/ fantasy because right now.. you have ALOT of experiance with Kings quest.. which will give you a better game in the end form doing medievil/fantasy
Welcome DarkoSerret! ;D
welcome DarkoSerret!! hope you'll enjoy it here ; )
Welcome to the forum, DarkoSerret!! ;D
Medieval Fantasy/Fairy-tale
Well Thank you.. Glad to be here I am so Glad to have found a website and a team dedicated to ressurect the games of my childhood.
I voted for mystery. There don't seem to be a lot of good mystery mysteries out there..though I did read on Just Adventure that the Adventure company is doing a series based on Agatha Christie novels. That will be interesting :) Poirot or Miss Marple?
I voted for a blend. I'd like to see a mix of Western and Occult. This is for two reasons: Westerns, as a whole, are an under-represented genre for computer games as a whole. This is because, doing *just* Western, there's only so many serious plots you can do that would make an interesting computer game.
However, throw some occult stuff into it...then you can have a *great* Western game. I'd like to see you do that (obviously still as an adventure game).
